It develops and oversees the implementation of Authorities the Regional Catchment Strategy. (Goulburn Broken) The Authority works in partnership with the community to ensure land and water resources are protected and enhanced as well as improving the region's social wellbeing, environmental quality and productive capacity in a sustainable manner. GB CMA, as the “Caretaker of River Health”, “Manager of the Environmental Water Reserve” and “Waterway Manager” for the region, will be the lead agency for implementing the Goulburn Broken Waterway Strategy. The strategy will be implemented as a sub-strategy of the Regional Catchment Strategy, through established partnerships involving: • agencies with water management, land management or other relevant legislated responsibilities; • communities; and • other stakeholders such as non-government organisations, Landcare and other community groups. The Department of The Department of Environment and Primary Industries (DEPI) is responsible for the Environment and efficient and practical management of land, water and agricultural services. The DEPI is Primary Industries is the lead agency for the development of policy regarding water resource management responsible for and waterway management. DEPI is also responsible for other aspects of natural agriculture, fisheries, resource management that are relevant to waterways, including: forestry, public land • delivery of services at a regional level, including some services that relate to and the environment waterway management; • management of fisheries and recreational fishing in waterways to optimise economic and social value while ensuring the sustainability of resources; • management of biosecurity, including aquatic invasive species; • oversight of the catchment planning framework to promote integrated catchment management throughout Victoria; • management of biodiversity; • management of public land, including waterways and bushfire management on public land; and • improvement of agricultural productivity. DEPI is also responsible for Crown frontages in Victoria. It is responsible for their administration, including their licensing for riparian management and for grazing and ensuring compliance with licence conditions. DEPI also has a direct onground responsibility for unlicensed Crown frontages. The Environment The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) Victoria: Protection Authority • identifies the beneficial uses of water environments and the level of Victoria is an environmental quality needed to protect them through the State environmental Environmental Protection Policy (Waters of Victoria); regulator and authority • provides specific direction on the management of various activities that affect on environmental water quality; impacts. • uses mandatory and regulatory processes, such as licensing and other discretionary tools to assist in the achievement of water quality objectives; and • acts in partnership with the DEPI and regional bodies to monitor water quality and waterway condition and enables problem solving approaches and independent audits of impacts on the environment and the protection of beneficial uses. The Council reports annually on the operation of the Catchment and Land Protection Act 1994and, every five years, on the environmental condition and management of Victoria’s land and water resources, through the Victorian Catchment Management Council Catchment Condition Report. Victorian Environment The Victorian Environment Assessment Council is appointed under the Victorian Assessment Council Environmental Assessment Council Act 2001. The Council conducts investigations that are requested by the Government relating to the protection and ecologically sustainable management of the environment and natural resources on public land. Essential Services The Essential Services Commission is the economic regulator of the Victorian water Commission sector appointed under the Essential Services Commission Act 2001. The Commission regulates prices and monitors service standards and market conduct of the Victorian water sector. The sector is comprised of water corporations, established under the Water Act 1989, providing bulk and retail water and waste water services to all of Victoria’s urban and rural irrigation customers. Since reading The Hew Arcadia I realize how little T know of the social movements and idealism of the Utopians of the nineties. Some clues to the way men were thinking then may be included in the other writings-if any-of H.F.Tucker or in biographical details xbbl relating to him. Have you any such material that could be borrowed, perused and returned? I have gleaned from Christ Church all possible in the Church journals but still do not know such elementary details as date of birth and death, education, travels, friends, interests etc of Rev. H.F.Tucker. Believe me this is not idle prying- for the man's social experiments and writings belong to history. I knew, of course, of the Brotherhood's village settlement at Carrum Bbossh Downs, but not till recently, did your address come my way and the possible connexion pointed out.

    The District encompasses central Victoria and the lower part of central New South Wales. It extends north to Deniliquin, across to Holbrook, Corryong and south to Melbourne's northern suburbs from Heidelberg to Eltham in the east and Sunbury in the west. Rotary District 9790, Australia consists of 61 Clubs and approximately 1800 members. The Rotary Club of Albury is the oldest in the District, being admitted to Rotary International on 2nd November, 1927. In 1927 the District system was first introduced and Albury was in District 65, the territory being the whole of Australia. Other Clubs of our present District followed; Corowa (July) 1939 and Benalla (November) 1939, Wangaratta 1940, Euroa and Yarrawonga-Mulwala 1946, and Shepparton 1948. In 1949 District 65 became District 28, being Tasmania, part of Victoria east of longitude 144 Degrees and part of New South Wales. Deniliquin came in 1950, Wodonga 1953, Myrtleford, Cobram and Seymour 1954 and Heidelberg and Coburg 1956. In 1957 Districts were renumbered and District 28 became District 280, then came Numurkah 1957, Bright and Finley 1959, Kyabram and Preston 1960, Tatura and Broadmeadows 1962, Albury North and Nathalia 1963, Tallangatta and Mooroopna 1964, followed by Alexandra and Thomastown in 1966, Mansfield and Corryong 1967, Greenborough 1968, Reservoir 1969, Albury West 1970 and Appin Park 1972 (now Appin Park Wangaratta). On July 1, 1972 District 280 was divided into two, and the above Clubs became the new District 279. Since then the following Clubs have been admitted to Rotary International: Kilmore/Broadford (1972) (now Southern Mitchell); Sunbury, Eltham, Beechworth and Heidelberg North (1973) (now Rosanna); Shepparton South and Belvoir-Wodonga (1974); Fawkner (1975); Pascoe Vale (1976); Strathmore-Gladstone Park (1977) (now Strathmore), Albury Hume and Healesville (1977); Shepparton Central (1983); Wodonga West (1984); Tocumwal, Lavington, Craigieburn, Holbrook and Mount Beauty (1985); Jerilderie, Yea and Bellbridge Lake Hume (1986); Rutherglen, Bundoora and Nagambie (1987).
