Got a sweet tooth? Need a hot beverage to battle the icy weather? YYC Hot Chocolate Fest begins Feb. 1! Throughout the month, cafes, restaurants and chocolatiers across Calgary will be competing to be voted Best Hot Chocolate.

International student wellness focus group

The UCalgary Student Wellness Services oﬃce is developing a suicide awareness and prevention initiative. All UCalgary international students are invited to share your ideas on the development of this initiative in a safe, conﬁdential discussion space.

Date: Monday, Feb. 10 Time: 3 – 4:30 p.m. Location: ISS Conference Room (MSC 275)

Registration isn't required, but the focus group will start at 3 p.m. sharp, so please arrive on time.

Global Cafe

This Cafe is a monthly drop-in event open to all UCalgary students! Come de-stress and make connections with other international and domestic students on campus. We will be collaborating with the Pakistani Student Society for a game night that celebrates Pakistani culture and society!

Skating at Olympic Plaza

Wrap up your reading week by joining us at Olympic Plaza for outdoor ice skating! You will be able to enjoy the night scenery of downtown Calgary while skating with new friends! You can rent skates there ($5 for helmet, $12 for skates) or through the Outdoor Centre in advance ($5 for helmet, $10 for skates). Date: Friday, Feb. 21 Time: 5 – 7 p.m. Location: Meet at ISS (MSC 275); we'll take the CTrain together (bring your UPass) Cost: Free, not including the cost of skate/helmet rentals Register through the ISS calendar in Careerlink

Permanent Residence (PR) information session

Our Permanent Residence Specialist will present basic information on PR pathways that may be available to you. Please note this session is only available to current UCalgary degree-seeking students and recent graduates.

Global Families: Rock climbing

Join the Global Families Program at the University of Calgary’s Outdoor Centre for some rock-climbing fun! This introductory workshop will go over basic belay and safety skills, leading into free time to explore the climbing walls. This event is open to parents and children of all ages. Remember to dress comfortably and bring running shoes!
