To those that have served in the armed forces and who are currently serving a very BIG THANK YOU for your service. FROM THE EAST Hi All, Well we are still in Masonic lockdown and hopefully this will end in the next couple of months. The Grand Master is now working on the logistics which will allow us to meet and is suppose to give us the parameters this month.

This month we have the Hall Association on the 1st with our Stated Meeting on the 4th, you will be notified by email of the zoom meeting dates and times. The elected officers of Evergreen and Riverside (Masters and Sr. Wardens) will be meeting with Grand Lodge Consolidation committee, along with our Inspector, on the 5th.

The first three months of the year, 6 of our Master Masons have been members of the fraternity for at least 60 years. They are: Leslie Peterson 60 yrs, Alan Nixon 62 yrs, James Mason 64 yrs, Spencer Sargent 65 yrs and Art Philamalee a whopping 73 yrs. We extend congratulations to each of you and hope you will be with us for many more years to come. All 50 year members and beyond have set the bar for all of us to achieve.

I’ve been informed that several of our younger members are upset because nothing is happening and they are not getting any information. Did you know, I send out the Trestleboard every month and we are the only lodge do so in the 822nd District and it is even put on our website. It has some information but if there is nothing happening I can not report on Masonic events. Are you reading the Trestleboard?

In all my years as a mason, I have known just one Master Mason to become an officer after his 50th anniversary and he is currently Master of his lodge. Now he is setting the example and I wonder how many of you will step forward and help your lodge now and in the future.

This brings me to a subject we really do not want to hear or discuss. We have on our rolls 13 Entered Apprentices and 4 Fellowcrafts of which 10 are seriously behind in paying their dues. We have 34 Master Masons who are also seriously behind in paying their dues. If we have to suspend those members, our membership will be just 5 Entered Apprentices, 1 Fellowcraft and 70 Master Masons. With just 76 members our current dues will not be enough to financially support the lodge and in our membership, we have approximately 16 life members who are exempt from paying dues.

So, the two reasons we have to consider consolidation is 1) a roster which keeps declining each year, and 2) lack of membership participation.

This squad lasted a total of three seasons, putting together a cumulative record of 46-122.

The Raptors Weren't Toronto's First Basketball Team Believe it or not, the Raptors and then-Vancouver Grizzlies weren't the first NBA teams to tip off north of the border. That honor belongs to the Toronto Huskies, one of the first teams in the league. However, at that , Canada proved to be a tough basketball market as the Huskies lasted just one season, going 22-38 and missing the playoffs.

Muggsy Bogues Was a First-Round Pick At 5'3", Muggsy Bogues is the smallest player to ever play in the NBA. Seeing as how he averaged just 8.3 points and 6.6 assists in four years at Wake Forest, one wouldn't think he was a first-round pick. One would be wrong, as the Washington Bullets selected the diminutive point guard with the 12th overall pick in the 1987 draft. He would go on to have a 14-year career, making his bones as a defensive threat and a decent passer. In terms of scoring, he only averaged 10-plus points three times.

Dave DeBusschere Played Professional Baseball Dave DeBusschere may be best known as one of the best forwards of his generation, finishing his 12-year career with averages of 16.1 points and 11 rebounds per game. However, Deion Sanders better move over. DeBusschere was also a two-sport athlete who spent two seasons in as well. A pitcher with the , DeBusschere spent two years with the team. Over that stretch, he went 3-4 with a 2.90 ERA and 1.38 WHIP.

Wilt Chamberlain Had His Number Retired by the Before he was taking the NBA by storm, was one of the fun-loving goofballs on the Harlem Globetrotters. His signature trick was picking up captain off the ground and throwing him high in the air before catching him. He spent just one year with the team and on March 9, 2000, they retired his No. 13. It was less than one year after he passed away. NONPROFIT ORG Riverside Lodge No. 635 U.S. POSTAGE PAID McCallum Masonic Center RIVERSIDE, CA P.O.
