Batman has had some incredible technology at his disposal during his iconic history in DC Comics. It seems the Caped Crusader will be getting (or potentially fighting against) one of the biggest robots that he's ever crossed paths with, as Batman: Black and White #3 will feature Batman and a massive BatMech.
Bruce Wayne's billion-dollar net worth has allowed the Dark Knight to use some truly impressive technical innovations. He's worn a mech suit among his many impressive suits, has used a vast amount f B t bil d B t l d h f ht ith t tl l i t h l I i of Batmobiles and Batplanes, and has fought with constantly evolving technology. DC Future State Theory: Scarecrow Has Turned Gotham Against Batman
Nick Dragotta (co-creator of East and West) is set to write his first story at DC in the upcoming Batman: Black and White #3. The tale will see Batman in a post-apocalyptic setting where a giant mech robot rages through the remains of Gotham City. While it hasn't been revealed if Batman is steering the mech (it's a safe assumption), Dragotta shared a first-look at his upcoming story, with Caped Crusader standing atop a giant BatMech which dwarfs the longtime Justice League leader. Dragotta had previously drawn the BatMech in a commission.

Batman: Black and White #3 will feature a handful of top creators with exciting takes on Batman. John Ridley and Olivier Coipel are writing a story that will introduce the future Batman's new sidekick of Future State. Meanwhile, Bilquis Evely is writing a medieval story where Batman is a knight fighting against a tree spirit Poison Ivy. Bengal will write and draw a story on Batman remembering his father defending Gotham. Lastly, Tim Seeley is returning to Nightwing with Kelley Jones, in a horror story. It's a murderer's row of comic talent that are putting their own spins on the Black and White tales of Batman.
Dragotta also auctioned off the original art from the Black and White series above, with all benefits going to cancer patients and families as part of the Lu Family Fund created by Felix Lu. The piece sold for more than $12,000.
Batman and a BatMech traveling through a ravished Gotham is a really interesting premise and with Dragotta penning the series, it's sure to be a great read. You can check out the anthology series when it releases on February 23, 2021.
