WFP IN ACTION: WFP distributes in Baghdad city.

For the past month, Baghdad has been experiencing a surge of sectarian violence, with attacks hitting the capi- tal on an almost daily basis. Despite the instability, displaced people continue to seek shelter in the city. Having left everything behind, displaced people are in increasingly straightened financial situations. Most are renting accommodation, with up to four families sharing a single small house to keep down costs. In cooperation with national partner ISHO, WFP has recently begun distributing FFPs to IDPs in Baghdad, helping to ease some of the financial burden of displacement.
