We have received your entry application and are pleased to confirm your participation in the 2016 Bay State Games Judo competition on Sunday, July 10th. This letter provides details regarding the Judo event so please review it carefully.

Finals Location The competition will be held at the UMass Boston Rink in Boston. This is an air conditioned facility and we will have two competition mats setup. Directions can be found at http://www.umb.edu/the_university/getting_here/directions. UMass Boston charges a $6 per car parking fee for all events on campus. This is a UMass Boston fee and does not go to Bay State Games. When you arrive on campus, please follow the Bay state Games directional signs to the appropriate parking lots. There is significant construction on the UMass campus and the signage will direct you the correct lots.

Juniors Registration & Weigh-In 8am – 9am Competition 10am

Open & Masters Registration & Weigh-In 10am – 11am Competition 12pm

Weigh-In Weigh-in will take place when arrive for check in.

T-Shirts Athletes will receive a 2016 Bay State Summer Games t-shirt when they check in on the day of the tournament.

Format The competition format will be a modified double elimination. Each athlete is guaranteed a minimum of two matches. All matches consist of one three-minute period (except for men’s brown & black belt, which consists of one four minute period.

Rules All divisions are governed by modified I.J.F Rules. Arm locks are not permitted in any division (except men's brown and black belt). Chokes are not permitted in divisions with athletes age 5 to 12

USA Judo Sanction The 2016 Bay State Games Judo competition is a sanctioned event by USA Judo, Sanction Number 2016-68-07

Awards Bay State Games medals will be awarded at the competition to the top three athletes in each division. Any athlete who wins a medal will also receive a Bay State Games award gift. The 2016 athlete gift is a Bay State Games logo back pack presented by Athletic Shoe. Athletes who win a medal in more than one division will receive only one gift. Backpacks are not available for sale.
