New York, N.Y. 2017 INDOOR SCHEDULE This Week: Oregon track and field continues the 2017 indoor season this January 14 UW Indoor Preview (Seattle, Wash.) weekend as the majority of the Ducks head to New York, N.Y., to compete January 27-28 Columbia East-West Challenge (New York, N.Y.) in the Columbia East-West Challenge at the Armory Track and Field Center. UW Invitational (Seattle, Wash.) The Ducks will be one of six teams in attendance in the clash between the February 10-11 Husky Classic (Seattle, Wash.) Ivy League and the Pac-12, joining UCLA on the west side against Columbia, Don Kirby Elite (Albuquerque, N.M.) Cornell, Penn State and Harvard for the east. The event will run Friday and February 24-25 MPSF Championships (Seattle, Wash.) Saturday. Oregon will also send a quartet of student-athletes to Seattle this March 10-11 NCAA Championships (College Station, Texas) weekend for the UW Invitational on Friday and Saturday. TEAM INFORMATION Coverage: The Columbia East-West Challenge will be streamed live on Coaches: Head Coach - Robert Johnson; Assoc. OREGON ENTRIES Entries: After competing in a “rust buster” at the UW Preview two weeks ago, the Ducks will begin the crucial portion of their indoor schedule this weekend Men Women in New York. Many big names will be competing for the Men and Women of 60 Kyree King 60 Hannah Cunliffe Oregon this weekend as they set their sites on qualifying for the NCAA Indoor Julius Shellmire Deajah Stevens Championships. Damarcus Simpson Ariana Washington 200 Marcus Chambers 200 Hannah Cunliffe Jonathan Harvey Makenzie Dunmore The women’s sprints will once again be highly-anticipated for the Ducks, as Kyree King Madi Greenleaf Julius Shellmire Khadejah Jackson 2016 Pac-12 Women’s Track and Field Athlete of the Year Hannah Cunliffe joins Kylee O’Connor 400 Marcus Chambers Deajah Stevens 2016 Olympians Deajah Stevens and Ariana Washington in both the 60 and 200 Joshua Rambert Sasha Wallace meters. Blake Haney will lead a talented young group for UW INVITATIONAL ENTRIES DMR the Men of Oregon in the mile, and Mick Stanovsek will run the 1,000 meters. Four-time all-American Raevyn Rogers will President: Michael Schill continue her title defense in the 800 meters along with junior Brooke Feldmeier. Redshirt freshman Ronna Stone will throw in the shot put while (Pantone 567, Pantone 107) also joining Madeline Middlebrooks in the weight throw. NCAA Championships: 29 Men’s Outdoor Track: 1961, 1964, 1965, Bowerman Watch: The Oregon women were all over the preseason watch list for the 1970, 1984, 2014, 2015 top award in the sport, as Raevyn Rogers, Deajah Stevens and Ariana Washington all Men’s Indoor Track: 2009, 2014, 2015, 2016 Women’s Outdoor Track: 1985, 2015 earned a spot on the list. Edward Cheserek, the only three-time finalist in the history Women’s Indoor Track: 2010, 2011, 2012 of the award, found himself on the preseason watch list once again for the men. 2013, 2014, 2016 Men’s Cross Country: 1971, 1973, 1974, Ducks Claim Seven Wins at UW Preview: In a rust-busting event two weeks ago, 1977, 2007, 2008 the Ducks came away with seven event wins in their 2017 debut. Hannah Cunliffe Women’s Cross Country: 1983, 1987, 2012, 2016 returned to the track for the first time since suffering an injury at last year’s NCAA Outdoor Championships, winning the 60 meters in 7.19 seconds (No. 2 in NCAA). Conference Championships: 68 Sasha Wallace set an NCAA-leading time and meet record of 7.96 while winning the Men’s Track & Field: 1924, 1934, 1965, 60 meter hurdles, and Raevyn Rogers just missed her own record in the 600 meters 1967, 1978, 1979, with a winning time of 1:26.96.
