Alongside the health check, the team will provide advice on diet, training and neutering. Each owner will be provided with a responsible dog ownership pack, including handy tips and useful resources for you to continue to use at home. Free advice and literature is also available for puppy owners and those who are thinking of getting a puppy. The team offer free on-the-spot microchipping for dogs that aren’t yet chipped (microchipping is a legal requirement as of April 2016). They can also advise you about changing your microchip details should it be needed. No appointment is required. They operate on a drop in basis so be sure to come along with your dog and say hello, but please keep your dog on a lead when attending the community events. All breeds of dogs are welcome at the community events, whether a pup or an adult, however Dogs Trust will not chip active hunting hounds or litters of puppies. They ask that puppies under 6 months old are fully vaccinated and proof of vaccinations are brought along to the event. If your puppy has recently been vaccinated, they must be carried for the 10 days following their final vaccination. Dogs over 6 months old do not require proof of vaccination. Teifi tenant network: The Teifi TN have been successful again with a grant funded by the Lottery Awards for All. The grant will be used to fund some day trips as well as small community projects such as fun days, communal gardens and family centre items. It will also be used to purchase three iPads which some of the Teifi TN committee will use to teach community members on the basics such as internet shopping and how to use email.

The Neighbourhood Team

The Neighbourhood Team which was set up to deal with anti-social behaviour and tenancy issues in Council properties have seen their workloads increasing. Officers deal with a variety of anti-social behaviour complaints, which include drug abuse and drug dealing in many areas of the County. The terms and conditions of Council Tenancies are very clear and any kind of drug use/abuse in Council properties will not be tolerated, and this could result in tenants risking losing their home and facing eviction if found guilty of this. Llwynhendy Integrated Children’s Centre hosted their annual Family Fun Day on 31st July and attracted over 270 visitors from Llwynhendy and surrounding areas. The free event included a 100ft assault course, bouncy castles, a circus skills workshop, circus themed crafts for children of all ages, messy play, face painting, a disco and a BBQ.

Actif Sport & Leisure Team The team have been working with communities throughout Carmarthenshire over the Summer Holidays. They are holding sport events aimed at getting children active and socialising with one another. The Duchess of Cornwall visited the Royal Voluntary Service lunch club at Dolau Bran in Llandovery in July. Here are some pictures from the visit which included a school choir from Ysgol Rhys Pritchard and Llandovery Male Voice Choir. The Duchess was greeted by council Executive Board Member for Social Care Cllr Jane Tremlett, council vice- chair Cllr Ieuan Davies and local member Cllr Handel Davies. She met volunteers and members of the luncheon club and presented Irene Walters with a card to celebrate her 100th birthday!
