  • Rye House Rockets 2016
2018-07-03 RYE HOUSE ROCKETS 2016 LEAGUE FINISHED 9th OF 13 TEAMS, K.O.CUP LOST TO NEWCASTLE IN THE SEMI FINALS MATCH REPORTS REPRODUCED WITH KIND PERMISSION OF THE SPEEDWAY STAR Special Thanks to Pete Hill and Ken Burnett for their help with this file Data Source - Speedway Star / Programmes / Speedway Researcher VENUE RYE HOUSE STADIUM COMPETITION LEAGUE CUP RYE HOUSE 50.0 40.0 PLYMOUTH DATE: 19/03/2016 RESULT: HOME WIN AGREGATE SCORE The new era at Rye House started on a high note as the BMR Rockets overcame a stubborn Devils outfit. Ironically though it was a glimpse of the past that ultimately separated the two teams with Stuart Robson rolling back the clock to Hoddesdon’s glory years with a 15 point maximum. Robson received solid support from skipper Eddie Kennett while both Cameron Heeps and Leigh Lanham made impressive debuts. It wasn’t until Heat 5 that the visitors provided a heat winner Charlie Gjedde holding off Lanham to make sure Plymouth didn’t fall further than six points behind. The Devils did narrow the gap in Heat 8 thanks to Simota and Nielsen but the Rockets immediately struck back in the next race as Heeps and Lanham outpaced Newman. With Jack Holder overcoming a sluggish start it looked as if we might be in for a tight finish but Kennett and Robson had other ideas. The Rockets skipper taking Gjedde wide on the first bend allowing Robson to execute a perfect cut back up the inside of the Dane in Heat 13.

  • 2021 Rider Index
RIDER INDEX 2021 The following is an A-Z list of riders who are contracted to appear in 2021, at Premiership, Championship and National League level. NOTE: All entries for the current season are as per the declared team line-ups, but do not necessarily relate to actual appearances for the named clubs, particularly in the case of No. 8s and/or guest riders; (2) The symbol II after a team's name differentiates between a club's National level and higher league side, when more than one team was operated in the same season; (3) With regard to ‘Club Honours', riders have been credited with a contribution to a league title-winning side if they rode in 6 or more matches of the team's league programme - and with a cup-winning contribution if they appeared in at least one leg of the final; (4) The Speedway Grand Prix and World Cup statistics will be updated for participating riders after each round of the 2021 series. ALSO NOTE: Premiership, Championship and National League and Cup racing didn't take place during the entire 2020 season because of the Coronavirus pandemic. We have, however, retained the riders in their intended teams in the 2020 Rider Index for reference purposes, but those 2020 team listings have been removed for the 2021 Rider Index. The arrival of top level speedway in East Hertfordshire created so much interest that the start time had to be delayed to allow those queuing outside the stadium to get in. They’ll be glad they did as the home side put on a memorable show. If an opening 5-1 from Lindgren and Howarth had a touch of welcome to the big leagues, the new boys quickly found their feet with the lively Branford and Perks returning the compliment in Heat 2. The reserve berths were to prove Wolves achilles heel with neither Clegg or Greaves able to make an impact all night. The initial signings of former British Champions Chris Harris and Scott Nicholls had raised plenty of eyebrows over the winter and the pair showed their class early on. Harris taking his time before picking off Skornicki in Heat 3 before Nicholls judged his fourth bend burst to perfection to catch Masters on the line in the next race.
