RYE HOUSE 51.0 41.0 WOLVERHAMPTON DATE: 01/04/2017 RESULT: HOME WIN AGREGATE SCORE The Team BMR Rockets made the dream start to their first season in the Premiership in front of a huge crowd in Hoddesdon. The arrival of top level speedway in East Hertfordshire created so much interest that the start time had to be delayed to allow those queuing outside the stadium to get in. They’ll be glad they did as the home side put on a memorable show. If an opening 5-1 from Lindgren and Howarth had a touch of welcome to the big leagues, the new boys quickly found their feet with the lively Branford and Perks returning the compliment in Heat 2. The reserve berths were to prove Wolves achilles heel with neither Clegg or Greaves able to make an impact all night. The initial signings of former British Champions Chris Harris and had raised plenty of eyebrows over the winter and the pair showed their class early on. Harris taking his time before picking off Skornicki in Heat 3 before Nicholls judged his fourth bend burst to perfection to catch Masters on the line in the next race. The Australian Champion got more rough treatment in Heat 6 as Kennett and Robson shut him out on the first bend to extend the home advantage to six. That quickly moved into double figures as Nicholls shepherded Perks home for his first win at his new club in Heat 7. Wolves started to cut into the lead in the next race when the impressive Howarth took double points in front of the chasing Branford. If the reigning champions thought the new pretenders would wobble they were mistaken as the lead dwindled down to just four with just two heats remaining. The initial running of Heat 14 saw Thorssell get the better of Watt only for proceedings to be halted when Greaves came down on the third bend. The Rockets man made the most of his reprieve taking the perfect line out of gate four to ensure a first Premiership victory. Heat 15 provided the icing on a considerable cake with Harris scorching to the fastest time of the night backed up by the classy Nicholls to send the home fans away in jubilant mood.

RYE HOUSE 41.0 49.0 SWINDON DATE: 08/04/2017 RESULT: AWAY WIN AGREGATE SCORE The Robins took an eight point advantage into Thursday’s home leg thanks to a solid team perfor-mance on a slick surface. With gating paramount it was the visitors who proved much sharper from the start against a Rockets line-up that failed to take their opportunities. With the teams separated by just two points as Heat 9 approached Emil Grondal’s fall on the third bend gave the home side a two to one advantage in the re-run. The impressive Nick Morris though made light of the situation powering round Chris Harris to keep the lead in tact. One chance gone the Rockets spurned another in the next race as Morris made the most of an untidy start which had left Stuart Robson stranded at the tapes to keep the Robins noses in front. The night had started in frustrating fashion for the home side when Robson was unlucky to be excluded after challenging Wilson-Dean on the third bend. The New Zealander though who has always professed his liking for the tight Hoddesdon raceway had another fine night returning paid ten points. Scott Nicholls was the pick of the home riders his perfectly timed pass round in Heat 13 providing one of the highlights. Too often though the Rockets were left playing catch up against opponents who made maximum use of rider replacement scoring 11 points out of 12 for the missing . There was plenty of action to keep another big crowd entertained. Bellego being lucky to walk away from a spectacular spill on the home straight of Heat 10 after Morris and Robson had clashed on the fourth bend. Still only two points in front with two races left Emil Grondal’s sharp start in Heat 14 secured victory on the night for The Robins before Morris and Doyle made the Rockets second leg task even more difficult with a 4-2 in the final action.

SWINDON 51.0 39.0 RYE HOUSE DATE: 13/04/2017 RESULT: HOME WIN AGREGATE SCORE Swindon completed the double over Rye House to land into the semi-finals of the Knockout Cup. But despite being eight points down from the first leg, the visitors refused to allow the Robins to gather much wind by matching them for two- thirds of the meeting. All square after four races, the Rockets then nudged ahead through and Stuart Robson, who looked set for a 5-1 until David Bellego passed the latter for second. Swindon then restored the balance with a 4-2 of their own. Briefly, in the best race of the season so far, it looked as though the deadlock could be broken when Emil Grondal took the lead in Heat 7 with Nick Morris pressuring Chris Harris for second. But Bomber passed the Dane, only for the in-form Morris to overhaul him from third to take the flag. Morris was particularly impressive, but Scott Nicholls fended off his challenge in the ninth to end his hopes of what would have been a well- deserved paid maximum after the first attempt to run the race was stopped following a first bend fall for Bellego. Swindon nosed ahead again but the visitors hauled them back to the lauch pad in Heat 12. It wasn't until the next race when the Robins finally cooled the Rockets' engines with a 5-1 from Jason Doyle and Morris. And then, much to Dave Watt's disbelief, Bellego battled his way from third to grab second on the line to put the issue beyond doubt and record their first success at the Abbey of 2017.

RYE HOUSE 50.0 42.0 KING'S LYNN DATE: 15/04/2017 RESULT: HOME WIN AGREGATE SCORE The Team BMR Rockets bounced back from last weeks cup disappointment against Swindon with an impressive win in front of another big Hoddesdon crowd. Skipper Eddie Kennett led by example completing his first full maximum of the young season in fine style. The evening got off to the perfect start for the home fans as Kennett and Stuart Robson left a sluggish at the start of Heat 1 to take maximum advantage. Spurred on by the early success reserve pairing Rob Branford and Ellis Perks followed suit in Heat 2 to leave Kings Lynn literally seeing stars. It was the start of an eventful night for Branford who was excluded for coming out in the wrong helmet colour in Heat 7 before almost being hit by Huckenbeck when he fell in the next race. In contrast his reserve partner Perks continued to impress, Scott Nicholls superbly shepherding him over the line to establish a 12 point lead after only four heats. To their credit the visitors hit back despite wasting their double point opportunity when Harris’s sharp start to Heat 5 left Holder playing catch up. The Stars only 5-1 of the night in Heat 7 started a run of heat advantages that saw the home lead dwindle down to just four points with six races left. Just as the nerves were jangling though up stepped skipper Kennett to calm everyone down beating the impressive Niklas Porsing in Heat 10. The visitors continued to push their hosts to the limit with Huckenbeck particularly unfortunate wasting two good starts with mistakes to allow the chasing Rockets back into contention. As Heat 13 approached the lead stood at just six points but with an increasingly high dirt line it was Kennett who made the start Nicholl’s shutting off Lambert’s outside run to extend the home advantage by two points. Despite Batchelor’s victory in the penultimate race the Stars couldn’t get back into the contest after that Kennett’s maximum being completed in front of a cheering crowd in Heat 15.

RYE HOUSE 49.0 44.0 POOLE DATE: 22/04/2017 RESULT: HOME WIN AGREGATE SCORE The Team BMR Rockets put together another solid team performance to maintain their unbeaten home record in the Premiership. The home side were never behind from the time Rob Branford and Ellis Perks returned the first of four Rockets maximums getting the better of in Heat 2. Despite providing nine race winners an inability to get amongst the minor placings ultimately cost the Pirates on the night. The hard working Brady Kurtz did his best to keep the visitors in the hunt only headed when Eddie Kennett and Stuart Robson produced a perfect first turn in Heat 10. That was the second time the pair hit a 5-1, the first in Heat 6 opening up a 10 point margin between the teams. Poole though reacted immediately Kurtz making the most of his nomination for double points backed up by his partner Jack Holder to cut the deficit to three. That became just a single point after Nicolai Klindt burst into life in Heat 8 to leave Robson chasing his back wheel. When it came to action Chris Harris was the man to watch cutting inside Holder in Heat 3 and repeating the move over the fast starting Hans Andersen in Heat 9 to stretch the home advantage to three points. Heat 11 almost ended in disaster as Branford lost control on bend four ploughing into Kasprzak but thankfully the Pirates number one was able to walk away unscathed. Seven points down with three races left the visitors still fancied their chances of an away victory. The Rockets though kept their nerve, debutant and Branford settling in behind the fast starting Kurtz in the penultimate heat to give the Rockets only their second league victory over Poole. Kurtz completed his excellent night in Heat 15 producing another sharp gate to send the Pirates home with the point their efforts deserved.

WOLVERHAMPTON 55.0 37.0 RYE HOUSE DATE: 24/04/2017 RESULT: HOME WIN AGREGATE SCORE Wolves' recent team changes had the desired effect as they chalked up a comfortable victory in a meeting that produced some thrilling racing to warm the fans on a bitterly cold evening. After a first bend fall in his opening outing. looked classy as he claimed two wins, while Mark Riss featured in two 5-1s in his paid seven return. In an ironic twist the dropped replaced the injured Rob Branford for the visitors but only managed a solitary point. Freddie Lindgren notched a paid maximum, but this was a solid Wolves performacne with every rider paid for a race win. With so many Monmore track specialists in their side the Rockets were expected tio push Wolves close, but 5-1s in the opening two races put Wolves firmly in control. Jacob Thorssell and Ricky Wells raced side by side on the first lap in the re-run of Heat 3, before the former Wolf cut under the Swede Thorssell then exchanged passes with Stuart Robson in Heat 5, after Edward Kennett fell on the fourth bend. Wells took a T/R outing in Heat 7 and went into the lead coming out oif turn two, only for to blast past off turn four to minimise the damage. There was a great battle between Robson and Kyle Howarth in Heat 8, with Ellis Perks leading to claim a 5-1 for the visitors. Heat 10 saw the riders close together, with Lindgren picking off the visitors coming off bend two on successive laps and then slipping into the lead on the final lap for a third 5-1 of the evening with Howarth. Robson and Chirs Harris claimed a consolation heat advaantage in Heat 15, but by then Wolves' win was secured.

RYE HOUSE 54.0 36.0 DATE: 01/05/2017 RESULT: HOME WIN AGREGATE SCORE A comfortable home win for the Team BMR Rockets on a bitterly cold afternoon by the River Lea. The Lions were up against it from the start already without Kacper Gomo′lski they were forced to hastily draft in Danno Verge after Josh Bates was taken ill. The classy Kim Nilsson gave the visitors a good start outpacing the chasing Eddie Kennett in Heat 1 but that was as good as it was going to get for the Lions. From the moment Rob Branford produced a sharp inside gate to take heat 2 there was really only one team in it. The pairing of Ricky Wells and Chris Harris proved particularly potent for the Rockets returning two of the four home maximums. Wells colours were only lowered in Heat 14 when he made an uncharacteristically sluggish start and subsequently took the wrong line out of the third bend when chasing Lasse Bjerre. That proved a rare mistake by a Rockets line-up that took a 10 point lead after only six heats despite a heavy rain shower that took race times well over the minute mark. Surprisingly Lions Team Manager Jim Lynch didn’t use the black and white helmet until Heat 10 and even then it failed to produce the desired outcome, Kennett and Robson keeping Riss back to effectively seal the contest. The hard working German had little luck all afternoon his scrap with Harris in Heat 12 which was arguably the race of the day resulting in him falling on the third bend of the penultimate lap. By that stage the home side had a comfortable 16 point advantage which was stretched to 20 following a bizarre Heat 13. Kennett and Nicholls producing the perfect understanding to put the Rockets into maximum position only for the starter to miscount leaving the bemused home skipper slowing as he crossed the line of what turned into a 5 lap race. Bjerre and the all action Danny Ayres finally gave the Lions fans on the first bend something to cheer about in Heat 14 before another blistering gate from Wells confirmed the Rockets superiority in the final race.

POOLE 58.0 33.0 RYE HOUSE DATE: 10/05/2017 RESULT: HOME WIN AGREGATE SCORE Poole's Aussie shooting stars Brady Kurtz and Jack Holder underlined why some Pirates fans are dubbing them the new Turbo Twins as they starred in a 56-33 demolition of five-man Rye House. Rockets arrived at Wimborne Road with siz riders as they operated rider replacement for Stuart Robson. And their task was made even harder when reserve Ellis Perks was forced out with rib injuries after tangling with Pirates No.7 going into turn three in race two. Despite racing on in Heat 4, he withdrew from the action, leaving Rye House to battle with one rider only in two races. Pirates took full advantage of their rivals' misfortune with Kurtz, Holder and skipper Hans Andersen charging to three race wins apiece. While Kurtz has taken the SGB Premiership by the scruff of the neck this year after an up-and-down debut season, Holder has been the man finding his feet in the top flight. But this was comfortably his highest score in Pirates colours and suggests he could offer the high-scoring support needed during the absence of No. 1 Krzysztof Kasprazak. It was a tough night for returning Poole star Kyle Newman, who raced his first meeting for the club this season following time on the sidelines with a shoulder injury. He enjoyed a huge slice of luck in his first race back when he ploughed into the tapes in Heat 3, only for referee Chirs Gay to controversially adjudge that Rockets' Rickey Wells had touched first. Newman capitlised on the decision to gain a paid second there, before losing out in a terrific Heat 5. Rye House No.1 Edward Kennett was handicapped 15 metres for touching the tapes on a night blighted by flase starts and delays. This left Newman to hunt down Robert Branford for second, only for Kennett to roar around the pair of them in style on lap four, bend two. Chris Harris impressed for the visitors on 12 paid 13 points, while Pirates were grateful for a solid guest appearance from Swindon rider Nick Morris. He went undefeated in his opening three races, only to be excluded from Heat 13 for moving at the start for the second time on the night. But nothing was going to halt the Pirate charge as they bounced back from their Bank Holiday Monday loss against Swindon.

SOMERSET 54.0 38.0 RYE HOUSE DATE: 19/05/2017 RESULT: HOME WIN AGREGATE SCORE It may have been a while coming, but it was well worth the wait as Somerset returned to winning ways in some style to put Rye House to the sword. The Rebels' three new signings all made significant contributions to mark their debuts for the club. Somerset couldn't have made a better start to the match as they hit Rye House with 5-1 maximum race wins in both of the opening two heats, and setting the tone in Heat 1, an opening salvo from which the visitors never recovered. Once again the racing at the Oaktree Arena was of the highest quality, Cameron Heeps' swoop around Scott Nicholls in Heat 4 breath-taking in its execution, while rode a supreme four laps to thwart Chris Harris' tactical outing in Heat 7. Although the visitors did close the Rebels down to just six points with a third of the match remaining, it was to be but a token effort as Somerset reasserted their authority. Richard Lawson marked his debut for the club with four race wins, the pick being his battle with Rory Schlein in Heat 14, the pair going wheel- to wheel for virtually the whole race. With Jake Allen rapidly closing in form third place, you could have thrown the provebial blanket over all three as they crossed the finishing line. As it was , Somerset were just far too strong for the Rockets to handle, with all six of the Rebels registering at least a paid win, to leave the home fans departing the Oaktree Arena having witnessed a superb all-round team performance and a much-needed win by their team.

RYE HOUSE 52.0 38.0 SOMERSET DATE: 20/05/2017 RESULT: HOME WIN AGREGATE SCORE A paid maximum from skipper Edward Kennett was the highlight of another solid home showing by the Team BMR Rockets. Well beaten at the Oak Tree Arena the night before the tables were turned at a Hoddesdon raceway which was circled by black clouds for most of the evening. The gloomy conditions though couldn’t hold back a home side that provided 11 of the 15 heat winners and were in control from the moment Kennett outpaced Josh Grajczonek in the opening race. The Rebels will no doubt point to some rough luck in Heat 2 when the returning Cameron Heeps fell on the last lap with things seemingly under control. But in truth along with Grajczonek only the hard working Richard Lawson looked like causing the home side any problems. After recent rain the track staff did a fine job providing a raceable surface and there was plenty for the home crowd to admire. They’ll still be talking about Chris Harris’s charge from third to first in Heat 9 at the end of the season, while Scott Nicholls intelligent switching of positions at the start of Heat 4 was pure class. Tantalisingly eight points behind up until Kennett and Robson’s 4-2 in Heat 10 finally opened up a double point margin the visitors had high hopes of getting back into the contest when they introduced Grajczonek for double points in the next race. The Rockets though had other ideas as Nicholls produced a peach of a start and Rob Branford relegated the Rebels skipper to the back to effectively slam the door on any thoughts of a Rebels revival. A maximum from Nicholls and Kennett in Heat13 made sure of the league points and lifted the Rockets back into the Premiership top three. Kennett completing his unbeaten night by roaring out of gate four to frustrate Grajczonek but delight the cheering home crowd in the final action of the evening.

KING'S LYNN 49.0 41.0 RYE HOUSE DATE: 24/05/2017 RESULT: HOME WIN AGREGATE SCORE Maximum man Chris Harris could not prevent the hosts recording their third win in a row. Rye House may have had the best rider, but King's Lynn had the better all-round depth, registering nine heat wins, with 'Bomber' managing all but one of the Rockets'. In circumstances similar to their last home meeting, the Stars made a slow start and the Rockets bagged the first maximum via Harris and Rickey Wells in Heat 3. They had shrugged off the fact that Rob Branford went through the tapes in the previous race, and took a 15-metre penalty. Ellis Perks lead and just beat a determined Kai Huckenbeck on the line. Lynn gradulally clawed their way back with four excellent rides from top scorer after a scoreless first one. Brilliant team riding from Lewis Rose and reserve replacement Huckenbeck in shutting the door on Stuart Robson meant Lynn led for the first time at the meeting's midway point, and a key Heat 13 5-1, Lynn's third, from Robert Lambert and Chris Holder effectively won it. Rose had sped off gate two and held off the close attentions of Robson to win a shared opening heat. Lambert led in Heat 4, while team-mate Josh Bailey fell at the back on the first bend and was excluded. Lambert led again in the re-run to rescue a 3-3. the next outing saw Branford replace Robson who was excluded for a tapes offence. Winner Batchelor secured Lynn's first heat advantage in the restart with Nick Porsing taking third. Among the highlights was a great Heat 10 tussle as Holder and Harris passed each other before the Cornishman retained his unbeaten spell, while Batchelor almost spoiled Harris' party but 'Bomber' passed the Aussie on the second lap of the nominated race.

LEICESTER 44.0 46.0 RYE HOUSE DATE: 29/05/2017 RESULT: AWAY WIN AGREGATE SCORE Early rain had left the Beaumont Park circuit in need of attention but the Leicester track staff rose to the challenge. Working tirelessly to get the meeting on, they brought the surface back up to a fit state for racing. The meeting started 80 minutes after the scheduled start-taime and it began with maximum points for the Lions when Eddie Kennett slipped off on the pits turn after coming under pressure from Erik Riss for second place. Rye House pulled tow points back in the reserves race through Ellis Perks, who was riding the track for the first time, and Robert Branford, who finished a comfortable third. Two races later and Leicester had restored their advantage when, first of all, Jason Garrity was excluded for exceeding the tow minute time allowance due to an engine malfunction whilst he was getting ready on the start-line. Josh Bates was his replacement but in the re-run, the race was stopped before the end of lap one when Perks (celebrating above) thundered into the back wheeel of Danny Ayres machine, causeing both riders to fall. With Perks out of the second attempt to complete the heat, it left Scott Nicholls to face the home pairing. Bates was smartly away, followed by Nicholls, and Ayres, who was riding one of Danny King's bikes, settled for a point. Nilsson and Riss then posted their second maximum in Heat 6, only for that to be cancelled out in the next race in a tough first corner that ended with Garrity pulling onto the infield and out of the race. In the space of three heats, the Rockets hit Leicester hard which edged the visitors ahead for the first time. It started in the tenth heat, which turned from a 3-3 to a 4-2 in the visitors favour. For much of the race, Chris Harris looked like he was going to finish pointless but over the last lap he made up ground on Riss. In a last ditch attempt, Harris took a much wider line around the final bends and, as the pair raced to the line, it was the Rye House rider who was successful. Danny King recorded his third win of the day in Heat 14 and with Bates securing third place, there was now just two points difference entering the final race. The rain then returned with a vengeance, which made visibility difficult. Nilsson was quickest away but it was Nicholls and Harris who filled the minor positions, which they held and the finishing order guaranteed the Rockets of victory and their maiden away win in the Premiership.

RYE HOUSE 44.0 46.0 BELLE VUE DATE: 14/06/2017 RESULT: AWAY WIN AGREGATE SCORE The Aces first league visit to Hoddesdon ended in a dramatic last heat victory as the immaculate Craig Cook and Brady Kurtz provided the maximum that took the visitors into the lead for the only time on the night. Things had started well for the Team BMR Rockets who showed no signs of rust after a 23 day absence away from their home circuit. Stuart Robson and skipper Edward Kennett flew from the start of heat 1 to leave and Steve Worrall trailing. With both Chris Harris and missing both teams were forced to use guests and it was the first meeting between them that provided one of the highlights. Danny King cutting inside the fast starting Brady Kurtz to take heat 3 extending the Rockets early lead to six points. Cook produced an immediate reply for Belle Vue recording the second fastest time of the season around the Hoddesdon raceway in the next race. It was always evident that things would be decided by small margins and referee Tony Steele’s decision to exclude Jack Smith after a clash with Robson on the third bend of Heat 8 seemed to give the Rockets the advantage. King confirmed the fans optimism in the next race flying round Cook to inflict the only defeat of the night on the GB World Cup skipper before Kennett produced a dramatic outside burst to grab second place in Heat 10.The tide though began to turn in the next heat with Worrall and Fricke springing into life to shut out the chasing Nicholls. That cut the Rockets advantage to just two points with four races remaining and provided the chink of light the visitors were looking for. Kurtz, Cook and Sedgmen won the next three heats with sharp starts setting up a last heat decider for the league points. In the end it was no competition as Cook and Kurtz got the better of Robson on the first bend and Kennett was left chasing shadows.

SWINDON 50.0 42.0 RYE HOUSE DATE: 15/06/2017 RESULT: HOME WIN AGREGATE SCORE Every team manager says it at some point: if they all ride to their potential there is no reason why we can't win. And that's exactley what Swindon did in this vital victory over Rye House. Jason Dyle and Bradley Wilson-Dean began the meeting in the best possible way with an opening race 5-1, which put the home side into a lead that they never relinquished. Reserve then showed his resolve by battling with Ellis Perks for first place. He came off the pits turn and pulled inside his rival, but it was the Rye House rider who had the edge as they hit the first corner on lap three, only for the pressure to be too much and he bailed out - handling victory to Wajtknecht. It was the opening shots in a meeting- long duel between the opposing reserves. They met again in Heat 4 when once more Zach got the better of Ellis. Swindon followed that with two maximum heat advantages that forced Rye into making an early tactical move in Heat 7 and it produced their first heat win. Perks finally overcame Wajtknecht to that third in the next race, and with Sturart Robson winning, the Rockets had closed the gap to 12. Despite Edward Kennett's dogged ride by the fence to pass Nick Morris, their challenge remained tethered to the lauchpad though. Wajtknecht and Perks then met for the fouth time, but it was the latter that followed his team-mate home which surprisingly gave his side some hope with three races reamining. Yet in the closing analysis that success, like the one in the final race, only served to make the scoreline respectable becaused the Robins wheeled out their big guns in the shape of Doyle and Morris in Heat 13, whoihc extinguished the opposition's afterburners.

BELLE VUE 52.0 38.0 RYE HOUSE DATE: 23/06/2017 RESULT: HOME WIN AGREGATE SCORE A much-needed home win for Belle Vue, though it looked to be another close call with Rye House seemingly relishing conditions at the National Speedway Staduim. The Rentruct Aces kicked off the evening with a powerful performance that saw them establish a six-point lead after six heats, before the visiting Rockets surged convincingly back into the mix. First, and Stuart Robson delivered a 2-4 to narrow the gap the four, before freserve duo Jqames Sarjeant and Robert Branford followed up with a 5-1 to level the scores at 24-apeice. This resulted in Belle Vue doubling their efforts to re-establish their advantage, which was made more complicated by a string of mechanical failures to afflict at least three of their big names. New signing had to borrow fellow countryman Max Fricke's machine after issues with a primary chain while both of Steve Worrall's bikes expired ahead of his final appearance. He quickly jumped onto one of British Champion Craig Cook's trusty steeds though he himself had been to-ing and fro-ing between bikes all evening due to unknown issues. Still, they managed to chip away at the increasingly confident Rockets to recover in the later stages of the evening, delivering three consecutive 5-1's to round off an emphatic victory.

WOLVERHAMPTON 50.0 41.0 RYE HOUSE DATE: 10/07/2017 RESULT: HOME WIN AGREGATE SCORE Wolves maintained their unbeaten home record after seeing off the efforts of a battling Rockets side in this entertaining encounter in front of the BT Sport cameras. Rye House will be frustrated they didn't take at least a consolation match point, but perhaps they under utilised powerful reserve Stuart Robson, and they only managed five race winners to Wolves' ten. Wolves got off to the best possible start through the impressive Kyle Howarth and Freddie Lindgren, in the first of two 5-1s for the pairing. A 5-1 from Jacob Thorssell and Rory Schlein in Heat 3 stretched the home side's lead to six, after Schlein fended off 's challenge over the opening two laps. Lingren's score was depressed when he was pushed wide on the first trun of Heat 6, and he finished third in a thrilling Heat 13. Chris Harris as usual was in the thick of the action. He roda a clever first turn in Heat 5, but Thorssell charged under the Team GB star on the back straight of lap two, only for the pair to exchange passes again before the Rocket took the flag. After Lingren and Howarth's 5-1 in Heat 10, Harris was given a T/R outing in the following heat, but with Ben Barker gating, Harris could not get past Sam Masters. Masters then pipped Harris on the line in Heat 13. Barker lifted and crashed into the fence at the start of the back straight in Heat 8, but was able to walk away, but Sedgmen was less fortunate in Heat 14. Ellis Perks spun in front of the Aussie on the first bend, and Sedgmen had nowhere to go, taking a heavy fall and being hit by his machine. He was led into the ambulance looking decidedly shaken and unable to take his place in the re-run.

RYE HOUSE 48.0 42.0 WOLVERHAMPTON DATE: 15/07/2017 RESULT: HOME WIN AGREGATE SCORE The Team BMR Rockets kept their play off hopes alive thanks to a solid team performance which gave them their second home win of the season over the defending champions. The teams were stuck together for 11 heats until back to back home maximums gave the Rockets the breathing space they needed. The first in Heat 11 was thanks to an excellent couple of opening bends which saw new skipper Scott Nicholls pin Kyle Howarth’s outside run leaving partner Stuart Robson to take the inside line under the Wolves duo. When guest Ben Morley flew out of the gate in the next race new recruit Ben Barker joined him to hold back the chasing Ellis Perks to open up a six point lead. Perks back at his old track for the first time since being dropped by the Rockets had a painful beginning falling heavily on the back straight after catching the back of Morley’s bike in Heat 2. The re-start was won by the evergreen Robson who proved a trump card at reserve taking his full allocation of seven rides. Wolves relied on Rory Schlein and Sam Masters to keep them in touch. Schlein reeling off three impressive wins and Masters combining with Perks for the visitors only maximum of the night in Heat 9. That win took Wolves in front for the first time but after Harris and Barker had shut out Thorsell in the next race it was the home side who took over. Holding a six point advantage with three races left Nicholls and Harris seemed content to let the fast starting Masters go in Heat 13 as Lindgren’s disappointing night continued as he could find no way round the Rockets duo. Robson sealed the league points with a comfortable win over Thorsell ink Heat 14 before Masters gave the visitors some consolation with his third win of the night.

SWINDON 57.0 33.0 RYE HOUSE DATE: 20/07/2017 RESULT: HOME WIN AGREGATE SCORE Swindon were clearly in a determined mood as they recorded their biggest victory of the season over Rye House The Robins established a 10-point lead after five races and the opposition were forced to make an early tactical move, which they handed to Scott Nicholls. It was always going to be tough to get a maximum advantage with Jason Doyle in the race, and he stormed into a comfortable lead from the gate - although he had to use crutches for the parade, he looked as fit as a missile on the bike and was unbeaten. However, Nicholls lost touch with his team-mate Struat Robson and fell into the clutches of Tobiasz Musielak who extinguished the Rockets' attempts to ignite any propellant. It was Nicholls who won Rye's next race in Het 9 despite the close attentions of David Bellego. Meanwhile, Bradley Wilson-Dean was providing the excitement at the back by making a very long straight and passing Robson on the back striaght of the final lap, but Bellego sudenly slowed while second that handed the Rockets their first heat win. The referee was handling out warnings for starting offences like they were lottery tickets. Six different riders received a caution and, like the lottery, someone's number would be up and Adam Ellis was the unlucky one who was excluded from Heat 11 for a second offence. He was replaced by Zach Wajtknecht who battled his way past a busy Robson to make sure his side's relentless march to three league points wasn't hindered. Small victories was all Rye were permitted, such as Tungate's win in Heat 12, yet only after Brad had to surrender the lead when his machine lifted on the second lap. By then victory was assured and it was case of how close Swindon could get to 60 points.

RYE HOUSE 37.0 53.0 SWINDON DATE: 05/08/2017 RESULT: AWAY WIN AGREGATE SCORE The Robins took their winning streak to 11 meetings with another powerful performance that left the Rockets' play off chances hanging by a thread. From the moment the impressive Tobias Musielak cut underneath the home pairing in Heat 1 it was clear the visistors meant business. The return of former Rockets skipper Edward Kennett, who received a generous welcome form the home fans, served to add to the occasion as Swindon took an early stranglehold on proceedings. With only three last places in the 15 heats, the Robins showed too much strength in depth for a Rockets team that could only post three heat advantages. Two of those came from Ricky Wells whose return to form, welcome as it was, couldn't stem the tide. Heat 9 summed up the home side's evening when Wells, introduced for double points, for once missed the start, leaving him chasing team- mate Stuart Robson. The pair's attempts to keep Nick Morris back ended in disaster as the Robins skipper nipped through on the last lap to leave Wells with nothing to show for his efforts. From then on it was plain sailing for the Robins. Heat 10 provided the best of the action as Chirs Harris and Bradley Wilson-Dean battled it out before the Rocket produced a perfect pass on the third lap. With the league points virtually assured, the visiting fans did have one moment of concern when Musielak fell heavily on the opening bend of Heat 11. Thankfully, the young Pole walked away with no lasting damage. If there was one heat that demonstrated the gulf in class between the two teams it was Heat 13 which saw Kennett and Morris leave Nicholls and Harris in their wake. While the Rockets will be hoping to bounce back against local rivals King's Lynn, the question for the rest of the Premiership is, on this form,. Who cas stop Swindon?

POOLE 30.0 60.0 RYE HOUSE DATE: 10/08/2017 RESULT: AWAY WIN AGREGATE SCORE Rye House reserve Krzysztof Kasprzak finally lit the fuse on his SGB Premiership season as Rockets blew a huge hole in his old club Poole's play-off hopes with a 60-30 demolition job at Wimborne Road. The Pole left Wimborne Road last month a failed No. 1 with boos ringing in his ears. He departed a Rye House hero on Thursday, after producing an exhibition of gating to romp to an 11 paid 12 maximum. Pirates fans could be forgiven for wondering why KK couldn't perform so heroically in blue and white as his average plunged from 11.08 to 5.51. But it's clear Kasprzak's ride on British speedway's transfer merry-go-round has worked out nicely, while Pirates suffered another sickening home loss - their fifth on the bounce. The margin of defeat was just a point short of the 63-32 humbling inflicted by Coventry on April 15, 2009, which remains their worst home loss of the Matt Ford era - but only just. Rockets limited the Dorset side to a sole heat advantage all night. Chris Harris led the charge on 12 paid 13, while Cornish caompatriot Ben Barker was rock-solid on eight paid nine. Ricky Wells did a sterling job on 10, while Scott Nicholls was also paid for double figures on nine paid 10. Rockets blasted clear of Poole by the interval, racking up an unassilable 43-17 lead with 10 heats to wrap up the points, ending on no leass than six 5-1s. Aside from their Heat 11 maximum, there were few positives for Poole, except for an impressive victory for local favourite James Shanes over Stuart Robson and Ben Morley in race 14. But Pirates' luck wasn't in as Kennett broke down while leading that race on the penultimate turn, denying his side a 5-1, while Andersen's engine blew to smithereens when he was heading Heat 15. The only good fortune they did enjoy was seeing walk away from a horror crash in Heat 12, when he was clipped going into turn three, flying over the high side of the bike and pounding into the fence. He deserved a better end to a night where only Poole's reserves and possibly Andersen emerged with any credit.

LEICESTER 46.0 44.0 RYE HOUSE DATE: 12/08/2017 RESULT: HOME WIN AGREGATE SCORE A patched up Lions team, missing four riders, produced a battling performance to beat Rye House in a match that went down to the wire. The visitors arrived at Beaumont Park in top form after winning at Poole by thirty points margin in the week and with Krzysztof Kasprzak at reserve, the Lions had every reason to feel apprehensive. Nevertheless, Leicester shocked the Rockets by scoring maximum points in Heats 1 and 2. Their opening partnership of Rory Schlein and Cameron Heeps struck first after Chris Harris fell whilst cahllenging Heeps for the lead. Then Kyle Newman, on his return to the team after injury, recorded his maiden win since joining the club and Josh Bates backed him up with a second place. The next two races were drawn and then Rye House gained their first points' advantages in Heats 5 and 6 which reduced the Lions' lead to a couple of points. Michael Palm Toft, who was standing in for the injured Pawel Przedpelski, gained an important win ahead of Scott Nicholls and Kasprzak I nthe ninth race but the Lions lost their slender lead in the very next heat. The situation though was only temporary as Bates and King outpaced Chris Harris and with Tomas H Jonasson falling off, Leicester were in front again. With four races remaining the Lions held a 34-32 lead and in the first race of the final stages of this meeting the previously unbeaten Robson forged to the front and was on his way to his fourth unbeaten ride, but King took the widest of lines our near the fence and the traction he picked up propelled him past a startled Robson. Meanwhile, behind them Newman cut back to the kerb to pass Kasprzak and then chased after Robson but fell in his attempt to pass. It was a point dropped and when the two Rye House riders crossed the finishing line ahead of the Leicester pairing in Heat 13 it placed the visitors in front again. The Rockets made a reserve change in the penultimate heat, bringing in Kasprzak for Ben Morley and the switch seemed to be working as he and Robson were the early leaders. It proved unsustainable as both Bates and Palm Toft swept past Kasprzak and then the Lions pairing chased after Robson which ended with both passing him. Entering the final race the Lions needed three points to seal a win and sent out King and Bates to face Harris and the impressive Nicholls. On the opening lap, with Nicholls in front, Bates crashed into the air fence on the exit of the fourth bend after Harris came into contact with him. The race was stopped and whilst the incident was deemed as a pure racing accident, Harris was excluded for being the cause of the stoppage. That left the outcome a formality as the two Leicester riders had to just finish the race to earn the three points to secure the match and they played safe by following Nicholls to the finish line.

RYE HOUSE 48.0 44.0 BELLE VUE DATE: 16/08/2017 RESULT: HOME WIN AGREGATE SCORE The BMR Rockets gained revenge over their narrow, defeat to the Aces back in June with a solid performance in front of another large Hoddesdon crowd. In a match in which the Aces three times took the lead, the Rockets had to dig deep, indeed every one of the home side were paid for a win, where as the visitors relied heavily of the brilliant Craig Cook, whose only real support come from the impressive Worrall. It was Worrall and the fast starting Kenneth Bjerre who set the ball rolling in heat one as they both powered by Barker and a rather sluggish Harris. The rockets were soon level though after Bewley took a nasty tumble in the second, Kasprzak on his home debut and Morley easily saw off Smith. Adam Ellis stormed to victory in the third with Worrall again powering through for second to put the Manchester club back in front. The Rockets then clawed back 2 points when Captain Scott Nicholls headed home Cook, in what was to be the British champions only defeat of the evening. Wells and Robson then stormed to a comfortable 5-1 to put the home side in front for the first time, but the lead didn’t last long as the magnificent Cook and a excellent Bewley showed Harris and Barker the way home. Once again the pendlem was to swing the other way as Nicholls and Kasprzak, held off the challenge of Worrall. 22-20 Heat 8 saw Kasprzak take a reserve ride which he duly won, but it was Barker who passed both the Aces to open the gap up to 6. Heat 9 was split 3-3 with Cook dominating by the preverble mile, but heat 10, was to play a big part in the Rockets win. In the initial staging Ellis and Worrall, both made the perfect start but as Worrall lifted coming out of turn 2, Ellis ground to a halt as he shed a chain, Worrall could do nothing to miss him as both Harris and Barker nipped through but the race had to be stopped. The restart saw both the Rockets make the start, but Worrall found a way pass Barker before coming to grief on turn 4, but the drama was to continue as both the Rockets completed 5 laps before the race ended, the 5-0 gave the home side a 11 point advantage. Cook duly took the tactical ride in heat 11, again winning by almost a straight, but Nicholls and Kasprzak made sure damage was kept to a minimum. Wells easily won a split 12th, before the Aces hit back with a 2-4 in another 5 lap race (value for money at Rye these days!!) Kasprzak duly made sure of a home win in the prenultimate heat, with Bewley hanging on to second from the chasing Robson. All that was left to be decided was could the Aces take home a bonus point, and they did it with ease as Bjerre lept from a ragged start with Cook as Nicholls and Kasprzak were left standing, the 1-5 gave the Aces the point they deserved, but it was the Rockets who gained the first ever victory over the Aces much to the delight of the home fans.

News Alls Wells that ends Wells BMR Rocket Ricky Wells spoke after the victory over Belle Vue, “it was always going to be tough”, we new that and we all spoke about it, after the win at Poole which was brilliant, we new we could win there, but I don’t think anyone expected that, we had to regroup and we did it, Belle Vue are a good side, but so are we, it was great to have a full 1-7, Krystof was great again, and he wont be at reserve for long, but who ever drop down to replace him, will still be a big hitter. I feel good, I am lucky I ride for two great club in Edinburgh and here at Rye, the team is great and the management are too, they are so helpful and the place is buzzing, there is a real feel good about the place. The track is Rye, you know what you are going to get, the outside gate was good tonight, but I messed that one up, but we are all scoring points and that’s what its about. The Rockets still have plenty of fixture with home (23rd August)and away ones against Somerset (25th August) and Poole 28th August), Swindon Friday 1st September), Leicester (Monday 4th September) and Kings Lynn to come, we also can still pick up points away too, with trips to Belle Vue (30th August), Somerset and Kings Lynn still to come, its in our own hands. It’s going to be a busy period for the Rockets, with the home and away matches against Kings Lynn still to be crammed in before the 4th September cut off date.

RYE HOUSE 60.0 30.0 SOMERSET DATE: 23/08/2017 RESULT: HOME WIN AGREGATE SCORE The Team BMR Rockets biggest victory over the Rebels in nine years signaled the fact that they will be a force to be reckoned with going into the final weeks of the season. Krystof Kasprzak led the way on an evening the traveling band of Somerset fans will definitely want to forget. From a cagey opening which saw the home side take an early four point lead a run of five maximums in six races took the Rockets out of sight by Heat 13. Things could have been worse for the visitors had Ricky Wells and Chris Harris not suffered engine failures. Wells was robbed of his first paid maximum at Premiership level when his back chain snapped on the home straight of Heat 5 allowing Charles Wright to catch him on the line. The signing of former world number two Kasprzak raised a few eyebrows but on this evidence it could be the final piece in the Rockets play off jigsaw. Setting the second fastest time of the year in Heat 5 the 33 year old was only troubled in his final ride when he had to bide his time before roaring round the fast starting Cameron Heeps. All the home riders were in fine form skipper Scott Nicholls only dropping points to Richard Lawson in Heat 13. It was Lawson who stood between the Rockets and an even more emphatic victory finding the racing lines and pace that seemed to elude his team mates. Trailing by 12 points after nine heats Gary May’s attempt to address the Rebels decline summed up their night when Chris Harris and Ben Barker shut out the tactical ride of Charles Wright. Despite the one sided scoreline there was still some good racing on show, Nicholls perfectly timed pass of Lewis Kerr in Heat 4 and Stuart Robson’s burst through the narrowest of gaps to take the lead in Heat 11 proving the best examples.

SOMERSET 48.0 42.0 RYE HOUSE DATE: 25/08/2017 RESULT: HOME WIN AGREGATE SCORE Somerset returned to winning ways with this victory over Rye House, but Rebels had to do things the hard way, conceding two 5-1s in the opening three heats, before sealing victory over a Rockets side who definetly had Lady Luck residing in their side of the pits. The visitors' first slice of luck came in Heat 3 when Ricky Wells lifted violently coming off the second bend, to the extent that Somerset duo Charles Wright and Paul Starke had to take evasive action to miss the American International. It left Krzysztof Kasprzak to avoid the melee and move from last to first, while Wells sorted himself out to follow Kasprzak home. Undaunted, Somerset hit back, Richard Lawson and Lewis Kerr bringing the Rebels back to within tow of the Rockets. But a further 5-1 in Heat 8, Kerr once again playing an instrument role, teaming up with Wright on this occasion, saw Somerset move into the lead for the first time in the match. Two heats later, Lawson and Josh Grajczonek teamed up for yet another Somerset full house, and once could have forgiven the home fans if they thought their side were heading to a relatively comfortable win. But luck was certainly not on the Rebels' agenda as Lawson shed a chain on the final bend while in a comfortable second place to gift the Rockets a 5-1 to bring them back to within two. The same rider then suffered a puncture as he and Grajczonek started their final lap well clear of the Ry House duo of Chris Harris and Scott Nicholls to turn a Somerset 5-1 into a share of the spoils and keep the visitors just four points adrift of their hosts. It was left, somewhat fittingly, to Kerr to ride a sublime four laps in the penultimate heat to keep Kasprzak pegged back in second place and, to the rapturous delight of the home fans, finally confirm victory for the Rebels.

RYE HOUSE 56.0 35.0 POOLE DATE: 28/08/2017 RESULT: HOME WIN AGREGATE SCORE The Team BMR Rockets ensured the race for the final Premiership play off place will go down to the wire after a convincing win over their closest rivals. Having been humbled 60-30 on their own track last time the two teams met you would have expected the Pirates to come out with all guns blazing. It was though the home side that put their stamp on the meeting providing the first seven heat winners. By the time Jack Holder outpaced Ben Barker in Heat 8 Poole were already 12 points behind and had used their tactical ride. Skipper Hans Andersen was introduced for double points as early as Heat 6 but was frustrated by Barkers excellent pass off the fourth bend of lap two. A 5-1 from Andersen and Lahti in Heat 9 did signal a possible Pirates revival cutting the deficit to just eight points. Any hopes of an all important match point were short lived though thanks to a bizarre heat 11. With Scott Nicholls in front Brady Kurtz lifted out of the second bend on the second lap crashing to the ground and within seconds his team mate James Holder had met a similar fate on the fourth bend gifting the Rockets a 5- 0. It proved just the bit of luck the home side needed to steady their nerves and put the result beyond the visitors reach. All the Rockets except Ben Morley provided at least one race win with Ricky Wells, Chris Harris and Scott Nicholls all in fine form. The home side could even afford an uncharacteristic tapes exclusion for the otherwise lively Kasprzak on their way to what could prove a vital victory. Wells and Harris ending the evening as it had started with a home maximum in Heat 15 to send the majority of the bumper bank holiday crowd home happy.

RYE HOUSE 65.0 26.0 KING'S LYNN DATE: 29/08/2017 RESULT: HOME WIN AGREGATE SCORE If this had been a boxing match referee Barbara Horley would surely have stopped it after Heat 10 to save the visitors any more punishment. In truth the destination of the league points was really decided after Robert Lambert failed to find a way round Ricky Wells in Heat 5 when introduced for double points. The arrival of the black and white helmet colour at such an early stage was due to the Rockets total domination of the opening stages. With 14 heat wins and just two last places all night the 46th A10 derby turned into a one sided affair as the Team BMR Rockets racked up their highest ever home win against their East Anglian rivals. All the Rockets managed at least a paid win with pride of place going to Ben Morley whose highest Premiership score of the season earned him his first heat 15 nomination. Morley’s excellent move to get the better of Tomas H Jonasson in heat 4 and his pass around Michael Palm Toft in Heat 11 providing two of the highlights of the evening. For most of the match it was too easy for the home side with only Robert Lambert standing between them and an even bigger margin of victory. With half his teams points Lambert fully deserved the visitors only heat win getting the better of the chasing Scott Nicholls in heat 11. Chris Harris finished with a paid maximum while Ben Barker posted his best score as a Rocket. Outclassed in every area the Stars also lost Kai Huckenbeck to a nasty looking crash in heat 10 the German taking a heavy fall after looking to catch the back of Barker’s machine on the fourth bend. By then the Rockets were already home and dry and thinking of the busy week ahead which will decide their play off fate.

BELLE VUE 58.0 33.0 RYE HOUSE DATE: 30/08/2017 RESULT: HOME WIN AGREGATE SCORE The questionable situation regarding guests between this and a certain controversial Chmpionship fixture aside, Belle Vue stopped a rampant Rye House dead in their tracks. The BMR Rockets had been hoping to secure their place in the 2017 play-offs and, coming into the meeting off the back of a bundle of big performances, they felt the NSS was the place to do it. But the Rentruck Aces, who already had their spot confirmed, were out make a statement to their fellow contenders after a recent dip in form made them out to be softer of the four targets. It was far from the case as the hosts went on to prove the old saying, 'form is temporary, class in permanent', bagging a comprehensive victory despite having three of their regular team missing. So powerful was their stance that the visitors were forced into black and white territory after just four heats; Ben Barker ultimately left fuming at team-mate Krzysztof Kasprzak for not letting him pass in Heat 5. the Rockets undoubtedly missed the influence of Chirs Harris, notching just five points from his rider replacement outings. Stuart Robson and Barker combined for a Heat 8 5-1 over Rohan Tungate and Ellsi perks to put the visitors just nine points adrift. But successive home maximums via Lasse Bjerre/Tungate and Craig Cook/Kenneth Bjerre stretched the Aces' advantage to 17. With the visitors' options exhausted before the halfway point, the win was the Aces' to lose with Cook, Tungate and reinvigorated Kenneth Bjerre leading the charts for the home team. Jack Smith in particular experienced one of his best meetings after bagging two paid wins and a third against some highly experienced riders; a good omen then for Belle Vue ahead of the semis.

RYE HOUSE 46.0 29.0 SWINDON DATE: 01/09/2017 RESULT: HOME WIN AGREGATE SCORE Swindon’s 17 match winning streak finally met its match at the Hoddesdon Raceway as the Rockets continued their impressive late season home form. Needing a win to keep their fading play off hopes alive the home side were in determined mood, never looking back after Jason Doyle’s heat one victory gave the Robins an early lead. The Rockets responded with two quick maximums, the first giving Ben Morley his first full Premiership race win, the latter achieved when Krzysztof Kasprzak and Ricky Wells produced a text book start to heat 3 leaving the lively Tobias Musielak chasing shadows. Such was the home dominance that Alun Rossiter was forced to send out Nick Morris for double points in Heat 6. Morris who has always proved a reliable performer round Hoddesdon’s tight bends obliged by getting the better of Ben Barker and Chris Harris to cut the lead to seven points. That though was as close as Swindon were to get only managing one more heat win, the absence of Adam Ellis proving a major obstacle with rider replacement managing just two points. Kasprzak and Wells stretched the advantage to 11 points leaving Morris standing in Heat 9. When Musielak hit the front in the next race it looked as if the Robins might get a lifeline back into the contest but first Barker and then Harris overcame the startled Pole to take the Rockets further in front. Better was to come for the home fans in heat 11 as Scott Nicholls and Stuart Robson flew either side of the fast starting Doyle, the Swindon skipper recovering to overtake Robson by which time Nicholls was away and gone. With the rain falling Wells outpaced the chasing Aarnio in Heat 12 to ensure the three vital league points for the Rockets before referee Dave Robinson called proceedings to a halt with conditions rapidly deteriorating.

RYE HOUSE 55.0 38.0 LEICESTER DATE: 04/09/2017 RESULT: HOME WIN AGREGATE SCORE The Team BMR Rockets rounded off their home season with a comfortable victory over a depleted line up. Forced to draft in Ellis Perks and Jye Etheridge the visitors always looked to be up against it from the moment Scott Nicholls and Ben Barker recorded the first of six home maximums in the opening race. Despite a rocky beginning the Lions hung in there gamely managing to cut the deficit to just three points after the hard working Kyle Newman made the most of the black and white helmet in Heat 8. Newman had to time his run from behind perfectly to over take team mate Etheridge right on the line with Barker in close attendance to give the Lions an 8-1 lifeline. The revival though was short lived as Krzysztof Kasprzak and Ricky Wells continued their fine recent form to out pace Danny King in Heat 9. The contest put effectively out of the visitors reach when Nicholls and Barker repeated the exercise in the next race to stretch the lead back into double figures. It also completed a remarkable run which saw the Rockets fail to drop a heat advantage in the tenth race all season. Heat 11 produced one of the highlights of the evening as Harris and Robson flew either side of the startled Kim Nilsson to complete a hat trick of maximums. Nilsson’s win over a chasing Harris gave a glimpse of what might have been if the Lions had hit any kind of consistency. In contrast all the Rockets achieved at least a paid win on their way to their sixth straight home victory. The visitors though did have the last laugh in the final Premiership race of the campaign at the Hoddesdon Raceway when Danny King produced his best ride of the night to finish in front of Harris and Wells.

KING'S LYNN 44.0 46.0 RYE HOUSE DATE: 13/09/2017 RESULT: AWAY WIN AGREGATE SCORE This season-closer was heading for a tight, white-knuckled final heat decider draw until the fates - or mechanical gremlins - interved. Midway through Heat 15: locked at 42-42 and 3-3, with Rockets veteran Chris Harris leading from top scorer Nichael Palm Toft, and Thomas Jorgensen behind his King's Lynn tem-mate. But then Jorgensen's bike slowly died and Rye House captain Scott Nicholls took advantage to grab a vital third spot and victory points. It was a sickener for the Stars, who deserved a draw after being six points down from the opening two outings. They had brought it back level after Heat 5 via their first 5-1 from Jrogensen, who led from the tapes, and who passed inside Nicholls on the back straight. A second Stars maximum by Toft and Jorgensen took them ahead for the first time and they looked favourites following Heat 12 when race leader Sturat Robson looked to have locked up and thrown a chain to take a four-point home lead going into the final three races. But a maximum from experienced pros Nicholls and Harris, the latter who overtook Toft at the end of the third lap, left it all square and all to play for. The hosts had to cope with the loss of Kai Huckenbeck, who withdrew with an old shoulder injury, but fared well on rider replacement for Tomas H. Jonasson.Reserve Auty took three of the rides and he and Toft notched a win each to record a total of 9+1 from the facility.
