Hon Annastacia Palaszczuk Premier of Queensland and Minister for the Arts Annastacia Palaszczuk was sworn in as Premier of Queensland and Minister for The Arts on 14 February 2015. Ms Palaszczuk has represented the Inala electorate in the Queensland Parliament since September 2006 and has previously served as Minister for Disability Services and Multicultural Affairs, and Minister for Transport. Under the Palaszczuk Government, 111 new nurses, 53 extra doctors and 25 additional health practitioners have been employed in the CQ Hospital and Health Service, and almost 100 teachers/aides in schools in the Rockhampton and Keppel electorates. The Back to Work program has helped 540 local employers recruit 1020 jobseekers. Investment in major road upgrades as well as the Rockhampton hospital, courthouse, art gallery, riverfront, and the Yeppoon foreshore is underway.

Tim Nicholls Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Minister for Arts and Major Events After spending 10 years as a commercial lawyer, Mr Nicholls successfully contested the Hamilton ward for the Liberal Party in the March 2000 Brisbane City Council elections. Six years later, he won the state seat of Clayfield, then from April 2012 to February 2015, served as the Liberal National Party Queensland Treasurer and Minister for Trade. As LNP Treasurer, Mr Nicholls cites one of his major achievements as forming a partnership with the Federal government to invest $8.6 billion on the Bruce Highway Action Plan “Out of the Crisis”, which included the $170 million Yeppen South Project. On May 6, 2016, he was elected LNP Queensland Leader.

Pauline Hanson Senator for Queensland Pauline Hanson was elected to Federal Parliament as the Independent member for Oxley from November 1996 until October 1998. Having formed One Nation in 1997, the party won 11 seats when it contested the Queensland state election in 1998. Ms Hanson was forced to resign from One Nation in January 2002. In 2016 Ms Hanson was re-elected as a Queensland Senator. The party is now called Pauline Hanson’s One Nation, with Senator Hanson as National Leader and Chairman. Steve Dickson Queensland Leader One Nation Steve Dickson was born at Mt Morgan in 1962 and educated in Brisbane. Steve started his political career as a Councillor for Maroochy Shire (2000-2006) before being elected as a State MP. He has served as the Member for Kawana and the inaugural Member for Buderim. He currently sits in the Queensland Parliament as a Member of the One Nation Party.
