It goes on to list New Mexico libraries alphabetically by city. Within each city libraries are subdivided into public, academic, special, and school categories. Electronic mail addresses, whenever known, are included. Also included are: New Mexico State depository libraries; National Voter Registration Act library sites; public library hours; library associations and networks; certified librarians; and a librarian/library name index. The library statistics section gives a statistical picture of the condition of public and school libraries throughout NetY Mexico and contains data compiled from the Public Library Annual Report for fiscal year 1993-1994. Statistics, sorted by population, include:(1) local government revenue & local government revenue per capita;(2) total circulation and circulation per capita;(3) library staff salary survey;(4) per capita measures of visits, circulation and holdings, program attendance, collection turnover rate, and population to staff;(5) service: holdings-outputs;(6) networking & automation, including type of PC, modem, library software, presence of online circulation and catalog; (7) definitions of the Federal-State Cooperative System for Public Library Data (FSCS) used to collect the public library statistics for the graphs; and (8) graphs of New Mexico school data for elementary, middle, high school, and private/parochial schools. NEW MEXICO LIBRARY DIRECTORY and STATISTICS 1995 Features of the 1995 Library Directory The 1995 edition of the Library Directory lists public, academic, special, and school libraries in separately identified categories under the cities in which they are located.Cities, towns, and villages are listed alphabetically, as are the libraries under each category. This year we have also included electronic mailing addresses whenever known, and expect this type of entry to increase as more librarians go on the Internet. A separate page lists the hours that public libraries are open to the public. New Mexico Library Commission, New Mexico Advisory Council on Libraries and the State Library staff are listed on pages iii-vi. The section following the directory of libraries lists library associations, and is followed by the section listing certified librarians. The index of librarians gives an association to the libraries where they work, and the index of libraries/town names is a further identification tool. Library Statistics Section This year the definitions which are used to collect the p blic library statistics are included with the graphs. New Mexico cooperates with the National Center for Education Statistics in the collection of uniform public library statistical data nationwide. All of the hard work that goes into the reporting from the libraries is reflected in this document. These statistics stand as a record and as a history for the libraries of New Mexico. Libraries listed in the directory were asked to provide the information for this publication and as much of that information as could fit into the editorial format has been included. Every effort has been made to prepare an accurate directory with up-to-date information. We request that any inaccuracies or changes be brought to our attention for the 1996 edition. There is a form on the last page of this directory for that purpose. LThis directory is available upon request on computer disc, in braille, and in large print.
