WHS takes Three Rivers track championship PEMBROKE - The Whiteville High School girls track and field team posted nine first places as it held off three-time defending champion St. Pauls to take the 2016 Three Rivers 1A-2A Conference track and field championship at the UNC-Pembroke track. Paced by distance runners Ivey Long and Grace Morningstar and hurdler-jumper Zoriya McDonald, Coach Will Dorn’s Lady Wolfpack claimed its first conference track championship since 2003. Whiteville took the top spot in the girls teams standings with 193.5 while St. Pauls took second with 189.5. Red Spring tallied 138 points, followed by East Columbus and South Robeson with 27 points each, Fairmont with 17, South Columbus with 13 and West Columbus with six.
