Appendix A Listing of Surviving Aratea Manuscripts This appendix consists of a listing of surviving Latin Aratea manuscripts of Cicero and Germanicus, giving their current location and the century or date produced, also included is a listing by century of production. The listing makes it possible to determine elementary patterns of their creation and circulation. In addition to handwritten copies of the Aratea, numerous incunabula survivals argue for the continued interest in this astronomical poem into the printed era. Among the sur- viving Aratea manuscripts, only four are not illustrated, and two manuscripts have Greek text, but are illustrated. Surprisingly, another medieval Germanicus Aratea has come to light in Iceland, but it is fragmentary, making the total 61. Aratea Manuscripts Austria 1.
