hen the first words uttered in a movie are lyrics of a song, it is clear that this is a movie in which music is the very W soul of the film. The lyrics of Sahir Lu- dhianvi are composed by Jaidev and the magic of this soundtrack has lasted for decades till today. Starring Dev Anand in a double role, along with Sad- hana and Nanda, Hum Don is film takes on the classic lookalike trope, set against the backdrop of World War 2. Although the story does not convince at places, but the script is so camouflaged in high drama that somehow it works. Thanks to Dev Anand’s charisma, and his ability to portray two markedly different personalities in his first-ever double role. The film tells the story of Anand (Dev Anand), a jobless and not well-off young man who wants to marry Meeta (Sadhana), but her father is against the match and insults Anand for not having a job.
