Dear Little League Family,

Oconee County Little League (OCLL) is pleased to be hosting the 2016 GA Senior League State Tournament this season. Our hope is that this will be an enjoyable tournament for each of the leagues represented. We are here to make your stay and experience in Athens as enjoyable as we can. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you while you are visiting here with us.

OCLL would like to thank Oconee County High School for allowing us to utilize the high school baseball field for the tournament. If you have any issues during your time at the park, please look for an OCLL staff person.

The tournament director for the Senior League Tournament will be the OCLL Executive Vice President, Eric Kincaid. He will be working closely with the District 10 Administrator, Robin Scott to make sure the tournament goes smoothly.

It is an honor and a pleasure for me to welcome each of you to the 2016 Senior League Tournament. All of the players participating in this Tournament deserve our Congratulations for their outstanding accomplishments and dedication to athletic excellence and teamwork. Sincere appreciation is felt for the many dedicated volunteers whose selfless efforts make possible our Little League Programs. We as adults, can receive one of life’s greatest rewardswards----the love and fellowship of our children. I hope all the teams, families and fans enjoy their stay in Oconee. There will be a $3.00 admission fee charged each day for anyone over the age of 18. (Players, Managers & Coaches are free.) A meal will be provided for those listed on the affidavit. The team manager will be given additional details in regards to meal at the mandatory managers meeting. We have ample bleacher seating for everyone as well as room for lawn chairs. There will be a concession stand offering hamburgers, hot dogs, popcorn, candy, soft drinks, water and so on. Tobacco use of any kind including e-cigarettes is strictly prohibited in the stands, immediate vicinity of the stands and on the playing field. No alcoholic beverages are allowed. No Littering- Please place trash in waste cans and clean out dug-outs after each game.

From Atlanta on US 78 E: Turn right onto GA 53 (Hog Mountain Road). OCHS is 8 miles on the right.

From Atlanta on GA 316 E: Turn right onto GA 53 (Hog Mountain Road). OCHS is 1212 miles on the right.

From the Athens Bypass (10 Loop): Take exit 4 (on the outer loop) or 4A (on the inner loop) towards Watkinsville (US 441 S). Go 3 miles then turn right onto Hog Mountain Road (Racetrac gas station). OCHS is 3 miles on the left. From Augusta: Take II----2020 to Exit 130 (Greensboro/Eatonton). Turn left at the end of the ramp onto Highway 44, at the red light in downtown Greensboro turn left onto US278/GA12/GA15, at the next red light turn right onto GA15. Follow GA15 for approx. 25 miles.Tuen left onto GA53/Experiment Station Rd. (3 rdrdrd red light in Watkinsville). At the second red light turn left onto GA53/Hog Mountain Road the baseball field is about 1 mile on the left.

The Double-Barreled Cannon As a weapon for the Civil War, the cannon is a one-of-a-kind relic. Never used in battle due to its spectacular failure in testing, it has met with success as a symbol and cherished landmark of Athens.
