February 26, 2021 Amazon warehouse workers in Bessemer, Alabama are voting to form a union with the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU). We are the writers of feature films and television series. All of our work is done under union contracts whether it appears on Amazon Prime, a different streaming service, or a television network. Unions protect workers with essential rights and benefits. Most importantly, a union gives employees a seat at the table to negotiate fair pay, scheduling and more workplace policies. Deadline Amazon accepts unions for entertainment workers, and we believe warehouse workers deserve the same respect in the workplace. Alex Pareene: Pundit of the Century
Alex Pareene: Pundit of the Century Alex Pareene, first of Wonkette, then Gawker, then Salon, then back to Gawker, then a stillborn First Run Media project, and now Splinter News is a great pundit. In fact, he is a brilliant pundit and criminally underrated. His talent is generally overlooked because he has by-and-large written for outlets derided by both the right and the center. Conservatives have treated Salon as a punching bag for years now, and Gawker—no matter how biting or insightful it got—was never treated as serious by the mainstream because of their willingness to sneer, and even cuss at, the powers that be. If instead Mr. Pareene had been blogging at Mother Jones or Slate for the last ten years, he would be delivering college commencement speeches by now. In an attempt to make the world better appreciate this elucidating polemicist, here are some of his best hits. Mr. Pareene first got noticed, rightfully, for his “Hack List” feature when he was still with Salon. Therein, he took mainstream pundits both “left” and right to task for, well, being idiots. What is impressive about the list is that although it was written years ago, when America’s political landscape was dramatically different from what it is today, it still holds up. In 2012, after noting that while The New York Times has good reporting and that not all of their opinion columns were bad… most of them were. Putting it succinctly: “Ross Douthat is essentially a parody of the sort of conservative Times readers would find palatable, now that David Brooks is a sad shell of his former self, listlessly summarizing random bits of social science and pretending the Republican Party is secretly moderate and reasonable.” Mr. -

HILL JENNIFER SHOAFF, COMMITTEE CHAIR UTZ MCKNIGHT RACHEL RAIMIST A THESIS In partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Arts in the Department of Gender and Race Studies in the Graduate School of the University of Alabama TUSCALOOSA, ALABAMA 2015 Copyright Kiara Monique Hill 2015 ALL RIGHTS RESERVED ABSTRACT This research interrogates the ways in which Black women process and negotiate their sexual identities. By connecting the historical exploitation of Black female bodies to the way Black female deviant identities are manufactured and consumed currently, I was able to show not only the evolution of Black women’s attitudes towards sexuality, but also the ways in which these attitudes manifest when policing deviancy amongst each other. Chapter 1 gives historical insight to the way that deviancy has been inextricably linked to the construction of Blackness. Using the Post-Reconstruction Era as my point of entry, I demonstrate the ways in which Black bodies were stigmatized as sexually deviant, and how the use of Black caricatures buttressed the consumption of this narrative by whites. I explain how countering this narrative became fundamental to the evolution of Black female sexual politics, and how ultimately bodily agency was later restored through sexual deviancy. Chapter 2 interrogates the way “authenticity” is propagated within the genre of reality TV. Black women are expected to perform deviant identities that coincide with controlling images so that the “authenticity” of Black womanhood is consumed by mainstream audiences. -

The Truth About the Entertainment Industry - #HollywoodRituals Aug. 27, 2020 Syndicated Columnist www.CathyHarrisInternational.com As a Syndicated Columnist and Investigative Reporter, I loved writing and researching at an early age. My current topic that I have been working on for two months – #HollywoodTrangenderAgenda, has to be the hardest topic that I ever reported on. Others reporting on the topic seem to have a lot of hatred and disrespect while trying to educate others. That is definitely not what I want to attract in my life so I have ended my research on this topic with this post. I have tried my best to be as sensitive as possible when reporting on this topic and I do apologize up-front if I have offended anyone. I Am Glad I Am Not Famous I came close to being famous when I blew the whistle on my job (www.TheCathyHarrisStory.com) and appeared on Oprah’s Oxygen Channel. During this time, I was contacted by Queen Latifah people’s twice to try to get me on her show to tell about the humiliation of black women who travel in and out of this country. I am so glad my life steered me in another direction and kept me on track. Again, in order to be RICH and FAMOUS, Hollywood (aka “The Entertainment Industry”) forces you to live with the same sex person or become inverted by changing your sex, raise inverted kids (raise girls as boys and boys as girls), and now they are attempting to legalize pedophilia and this is indeed a #HollywoodRitual.
