We were challenged by many to better that performance in the 2016/17 season. As far as seasons go, I am comfortable suggesting that we did! The first time since the 1950’s that the club has won three premierships in one season. Winners for the first time in 37 years of the AW Green Shield Premiership, second in the Club Championship (by a handful of points!); the Second Grade Minor Premiers and Premiership Winners and Fourth Grade Minor Premiers and Premiership winners. Having aligned with Northern District CC, we fielded a reconstituted women’s first grade team that impressively made the Final only to lose narrowly to Gordon. The women’s game is growing exponentially and as one of the most successful clubs in the history of the game, it is imperative that we lead the way in this resurgence.
