Pride Facts

λ The first gay pride parade in 1969, known as the March on Stonewall, started as a protest against dis- crimination and violence against gays in New York City.

λ The gay pride flag, which was debuted at the 1978 San Francisco Gay and Lesbian Freedom Day Parade, was designed by Gilbert Baker. It's inspiration came from the black civil rights and hippie movements.

λ Adding a black stripe to the bottom of the flag represents solidarity against AIDS.

λ The gay pride campaign of the gay rights movement has three main premises: that people should be proud of their and gender identity, that sexual diversity is a gift, and that sexual orienta- tion and gender identity are inherent and cannot be intentionally altered 20 [no definition] michaelmas 2006

Sometimes I cry By Candlelight And play the Stones

And cry again. That first time I'm not sure why. Our first time Sometimes I draw little black hearts You composed with them a heart Or people smiling or crying or laughing. Bearing our initials I'm not sure why. - Out into the night Maybe I am human

That doesn't mean I'm prepared to accept it. They lit the way I cry about that, too. And you found me

Every secret, every sigh Sometimes I cry And under their watchful eye And I know exactly why, - Took everything But I still drink you into oblivion.

Every time. They burned down Why don't you rot, and stay out of my dreams? While we slept Then I'd save on sanity, alcohol, And I held you And tissues. While your eyes sought out the stars - Never rested Porsha In the morning Too weak to be an angel You collected them up
