Russell Brand is an award-winning comedian, writer, actor and presenter.

Russell initially rose to fame in 2003 for his work as a presenter on MTV and on Big Brother spin-off, Big Brother’s Big Mouth. Since then he has become one of the most recognisable and best-loved comedy performers in the world, with a series of sold-out tours, bestselling DVDs and a number of major film roles to his name.

His first nationwide stand-up tour, 2006’s Shame, was a huge success, eventually being filmed at ’s iconic Shepherd’s Bush Empire and released as a bestselling DVD, entitled Russell Brand: Live. He followed that tour with 2007’s Only Joking (released on DVD as Doin’ Life) and in 2009 embarked on his debut series of US dates with Scandalous. His critically–acclaimed 2013 show, Messiah Complex, was also a major hit and again a bestselling DVD. Russell’s latest show, Re:Birth, was met with critical acclaim on its UK and international tour and was released as an hour-long stand-up special on Netflix in 2018.

Russell has enjoyed a wide-ranging and incredibly successful career in UK television. After concluding his stint on Big Brother’s Big Mouth in 2007, he went on to host his own chat shows, MTV’s 1 Leicester Square and ’s The Russell Brand Show, as well as the Bafta-nominated Ponderland, also for Channel 4. He has presented the NME Awards, Brit Awards and the MTV Video Music Awards (in 2008, 2009 and 2012) and in 2013 hosted a special stand-up show for Comic Relief, entitled Give It Up For Comic Relief. He has also appeared on UK TV institutions such as BBC2’s Have I Got News For You, Channel 4’s Big Fat Quiz of the Year, BBC1’s The Graham Norton Show and ITV1’s The Show.

As well as his impressive UK career, Russell is a major star in the US where he has acted in a string of Hollywood films. He starred as Aldous Snow in the hit 2008 Judd Apatow comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall, a role he reprised in 2010’s equally successful spin-off Get Him To The Greek. Other film roles have included voicing Dr Nerfario in the Despicable Me series and Creek in 2016’s animated box office smash-hit Trolls. He’s appeared multiple times on late night shows including The Tonight Show (with both Jay Leno and Jimmy Fallon), Conan, Late Night With Seth Myers and The Late Late Show, as well as guest hosting the legendary Saturday Night Live. In 2018 Russell joined the cast of hit HBO show, Ballers, alongside Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Russell is also a phenomenally successful writer with best-selling titles including autobiographies My Booky Wook and My Booky Wook 2 as well as 2014’s political title, Revolution. In 2017 Russell released Recovery, which outlines the 12-step programme which gave Russell freedom from all
