Show a man with a gun... it’s called action. Show a man with a dick... it’s called indecent.

There’s something wrong with the way Americans have come to accept almost every aspect of the human condition except for the most natural one. We’ve accepted guns, drugs and violence, yet refuse to accept bare and genitalia.

Put a man killing and raping women in a movie and it may go on to win an Oscar. Put a naked woman on the screen, and it won’t be allowed a nomination (take “Blue is the Warmest Color” for example).

We’ve become so desensitized to everything, but the one thing that makes us human. We’ve come to accept almost every negative aspect of human nature, yet refuse to condone the most natural state a human being can be — the nude.

With the recent craze of the health benefits of sleeping naked, I couldn’t help but wonder if there were more benefits we’re missing out on by always covering up.

Are nudists colonies onto something? Are we depriving ourselves of essential nutrients and ben- efits due to our perversion to the human body? Read more

There is perhaps no better sign that people are eager to move on from the coronavirus than the fact that this German lake district town is embroiled in a heated debate about nude swimming, and it has drawn national attention.

The local council’s ban on naked swimming — and other activities such as — has returned the town to the banalities of pre-coronavirus summers and earned it a spot on the national public broadcaster’s nightly newscast, where it received more airtime than the United 4 States’ spiraling coronavirus outbreak that day. Read more Why Trying Nudism Could Be Good For You.

Nudism has nothing to do with sex. Sorry to disappoint you. It does have everything to do with body acceptance, and simply enjoying the sun and wind on your skin. It’s about being about to see the human body in a different way. Society programs us to think that the only time we should be naked is either for sex, for a shower, or for surgery. The mainstream stigma around nudity is something I’ve talk about before.

Nudism, or as it’s called by some, by intent isn’t exploitive. People aren’t doing it just so they can see each other naked, but enjoy nudism because of the sense of freedom you get when you strip down and just let it all hang out. Because of the influence of religion over the last sever- al centuries, and because of the way the media has portrayed the human form. How we think we should look has gotten a little twisted.

In a July 2004 article in National Geographic written by Jennifer Hile. The administrative director of , Nicky Hoffman has this to say about Nudism; “For girls especially, there is so much pressure in our society to be a perfect size. As a result, there is a whole generation of people killing themselves to meet a standard that is impossible. Part of living a naturist lifestyle is accepting your body and regaining a normal .”

When you have hundreds even thousands of images everyday showing what the media calls perfect bodies, it could make a person feel a bit insecure. Naturism however, shows a diversity of real body types and can help to restore a more realistic view of body image. Read more

Where Can You Run Naked?

I promised, here the long awaited post of where you can run naked. The below list may not be 100% complete and if you have other ideas, share them! I look forward to your comments.

Your naturist club/campsite/resort/beach

This is the ideal place. No need for a cover up, all you need are , a cap and your GPS.

Country tracks, fields and forests

Depending on where you live, it’s possible that a few hundred yards or miles away, you’ll find hiking trails or forests. This is the second best place. Generally, those trails are not very popular and encounters are not frequent. In case of meeting somebody, you may decide to cover up or not. Some hikers/runners are not against nudity. Ideally run with your naturist mates. A lonely nudist can be seen an exhibitionist, a group of nudist will be considered a bunch of originals. Read more

The Freedom Of Going Nude In Public Places

Naturists tend to be easy-going people. We love to spend our days without clothes, relaxed, enjoying life in the nude. But if there’s one thing we like to complain about, it’s that we’re always stuck to designated areas. Like a fenced-off resort or a very well hidden that takes forever to get to, on an often dangerous journey via steep paths. Even in your own garden, which you’ve paid a significant amount of money for, you can only be nude when you don’t risk shock- ing the neighbors.

As if we’re little children. This is your playground and you stay there. Don’t you dare to go play- ing somewhere else! Those who do cross the line and get naked in places where they’re not supposed to (including their own garden, which happens to have a couple of windows pointing at) are reported as exhibitionists. Well, some of them definitely are. Read more 5 The Untold Story Of Yugoslavia’s Naturist Paradise

For Yugoslavia's socialist government, accepting millions of naturists who wanted a relaxed space to get back to nature was a useful show of Cold War soft power. The policy left its mark, with nudist resorts on the Adriatic Coast to this day — but the modern, capitalist world has also brought new challenges.

In August 1972, the International Naturist Federation held its 13th Congress in Koversada, a city- sized camping resort on ’s Istrian coast. More than 250 journalists flocked to the region — then part of Yugoslavia — to mark the first time such a meeting had been held in a communist country.

An estimated 400 celebrants attended the opening ceremony, at which the Naturist Federation’s flag was hoisted to the strains of Yugoslav national anthem Hej Slaveni (Hey You Slavs!). For the next seven days, delegates discussed everything from relations with nudist groups in other com- munist countries, to the dangers to the movement posed by pornographic magazines. Sessions took place in the courtyard of a palatial villa originally built for German Count Lichtenberg. West- ern nudists accustomed to the back-to-nature simplicity of the movement were taken aback by the chandeliers, luxurious furnishings, and black-tie waiters provided by their socialist hosts.

Clothes-free tourism was one of the many things that made Yugoslav Read more

There are three different kinds of people: those who like to be naked, those who don’t like to be naked, and those who wish they could enjoy being naked but can’t bring themselves to do it. I’m not going to advocate that one of these is better than the others but I will try to shed some light on why we all fit into one of these categories. Aside from which one I fall into, I will try to remain objective, with an understanding that it may be best that we remain in any one of these camps as we try to sympathize with each other.

Here is a picture of someone in the first camp: walks completely at ease, naked, from the shower to the locker in the locker room at the gym; carries on a friendly conversation with you as you both dry off, totally exposed; bathes frequently at the nude beach; enjoys being nude around other unclothed people doing everyday things.

A portrait of the someone in the second camp might look like this: is only completely nude alone, in the shower, the bathroom, a locked stall, or in the bedroom when having sex; is not complete- ly comfortable, even at these times; is always clothed, perhaps taking clothing into the shower at the gym to get into before leaving the stall to go back to the locker.

Finally, a person in the third camp could be this person: likes being in the locker room among nude people; puts a towel around the waist with the gym clothes on, takes off the clothes from under the towel, showers, puts the towel on, then back at the locker, puts on underwear while the towel is on and takes off the towel; goes to the nude beach frequently, but wears a swimsuit.

In an attempt to better understand the people in any of these camps, I met with therapist Ellen Gregory, owner of Thrive Counseling Center in Old Bridge, New Jersey. Read more Anti-Maskers Disagree with Nudists Over Covering Up
