HTC REPORTS SECOND QUARTER 2020 RESULTS

Taipei, – August 14, 2020 – HTC Corporation (TWSE: 2498), a global leader in innovation and design, today announced consolidated results for its fiscal 2020 second quarter ended June 30, 2020.

2Q20 Financial Highlights:

• Quarterly revenue of NT$1.34 billion with a gross margin of 26.5%, up 0.3% sequentially, and the tenth consecutive quarterly increase since Q4’17 • Quarterly operating loss of NT$1.67 billion with an operating margin of -125.0% • Quarterly net loss after tax was NT$1.84 billion, or -NT$2.23 per share

2Q20 Business Update:

• Launched the VIVE Cosmos Elite HMD and External Tracking Faceplate for the most demanding VR entertainment enthusiasts, with 2880 x 1700 combined resolution. This product was hailed in the media as one of the best VR headsets to play Valve’s ‘Half- Life: Alyx’ game, for which a promotional code was provided with the VIVE Cosmos Elite headset. • Unveiled two new flagship phones in Taiwan; the HTC U20 5G and HTC Desire 20 Pro. The HTC U20 5G is HTC’s first 5G phone, demonstrating the commitment to help drive this next generation connectivity standard. • Announced VIVE XR Suite, a cloud bundle comprising five applications covering remote collaboration, productivity, events, social and culture, ideal for users to overcome the new challenges of a socially distanced world. • Announced the open beta of VIVE Sync, allowing enterprise customers to use the service for free during the beta trial. The software serves as a collaboration tool for remote teams to hold VR meetings with their peers and customers. VIVE Sync also added non-VR support, broadening the for the application. • Commenced the next batch of VIVE X, renewing HTC’s investment in accelerating the XR ecosystem. The investment program has focused on enterprise XR software solutions, XR user experience, and unique technologies in VR, AR, AI, and 5G. • Participated in AWE’s online conference in partnership with , to share how we’re working together to pre-integrate and optimize our VIVE Wave development platform for Qualcomm-powered devices on the Snapdragon 865, XR1, and XR2 chipsets. • Held a series of live webinars in place of Game Developers Conference (GDC), which was cancelled due to the pandemic. Session topics included: Working remotely in VIVE Sync, VIVE Hand Tracking SDK, Viveport Developer Console, and more. A similar virtual event series was held in the UK in partnership with Immerse UK on “The Future of Work in VR: Remote Work & Collaboration”, which took place in the Engage platform.
