SOCIAL EVENTS Academy Presentation night will now be at the Phoenix on Fri 6th May. Special guest will be Howard Webb, Premier League referee. Annual Presentation Night, Magna Centre – Saturday 14 May 2005. Special guest will be Mick Wright, Sheffield Wednesday director. Cost will be £2 per person, but all players will be free. Senior’s presentation night, Outokumpu sports club, Fri 20th May, with comedian Gary Marshall. The Annual golf day will be held at Bondhay Golf Club on Sunday 5th June. Price £35 per head, which includes 18 holes followed by a 2-course Sunday roast. Anyone interested see your team manager asap.

PERFORMANCES The Senior’s excellent run finally came to an end when they lost in the Semi-Final of the S&H Sunday Junior Cup, 0-2 at home to Swinton WMC. They then lost in the Semi-Final of the Rotherham Sunday League Cup on penalties to Brinsworth WMC after drawing 1-1. However, Congratulations are in order as they have clinched the division 3 title of the Rotherham Sunday League.

FORTHCOMING GAMES 4 Girls League Finals are to be played on 23rd April at the Outokumpo, including our own U-16’s. Kick off times are 10.30am and 12.00pm. Please come along and offer your support. The academy will play there first friendly, away against Thorncliffe, on April 17th. The U-18’s are to play their final v Hallam on Sunday 24th April at Penistone Church, 14.00am KO.

SWFC SWFC are to have a ‘coaches day’ at the Outokumpo sometime in September. Further details to follow.

BRINSWORTH GALA This seasons Gala will take place on 11th & 12th June. Each section have been allocated a role in helping out across the 2 days, with parents help greatly required. Appointed duties are as follows; Car Parking - Academy, U-8’s, 17’s and 18’s Saturday. Same again on Sunday apart from the U-7’s will replace the U-8’s. Bouncy Castle - Girls sections, both days Ice Creams – Whitehill U-10’s Saturday, both U-15’s Sunday Teas/Coffees – Juniors U-10’s, Whitehill U-16’s Saturday, Both U-13’s Sunday B-B-Q – U-12’s and 14’s Saturday, both U11’s and U9’s Sunday. Remember, the gala would not be able to function as smooth as it always does without assistance from parents, so please contact your team manager if you are able help. SPORTSMANS DINNER Lee Cardwell, manager of the U-7’s, is organising a sportsman’s dinner on Friday 6th May. This will be held at the Marriott Courtyard, Rotherham on Friday 6th May. Malcom Lord is the compare, David Johnson, (ex Liverpool player), the guest speaker and Brendan Healy the comedian. Price of tickets, which includes a meal is £30 per head. 50% of proceeds will go to the Children’s Hospital, 25% to BW U-7 and 25% to BWJFC. Anyone interested contact Lee on 379807.

LEVEL 1 COACHING Every team should have at least 1 person who has passed the level 1 coaching course. The next course will be run around September, hopefully at the Outokumpo. Anyone interested in attending should contact Steve Smith on 839647.
