March 12, 2021 Colleagues, This Friday update contains an annotated collection of documents regarding COVID and higher education challenges (also available on our website). American College Health Association Commencement—Virtual, Hybrid, or In-Person? Public Health Considerations and Decision Making (webinar, March 26, 2021) Register for this free webinar on March 26, 2021, using the web link above. Three senior administrators/health center directors from various- sized colleges and universities will discuss the decision-making process, planning, and public health considerations for holding spring 2021 commencement activities. This webinar is sponsored by the American College Health Association and will cover: public health considerations/concerns; implementation plans for health measures; guest policies; communication to students, families, and stakeholders; and factors that could require a change in plans. 2. U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Training Programs and Reference Materials for Healthcare Professionals (March 2021) The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has produced a web site with links to COVID-19 vaccination training programs and reference materials for campus and community healthcare personnel. The site has a variety of training and educational materials, including COVID-19 vaccine- specific information. 3. National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) Student Financial Aid Reference Desk (March 2021) The National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) has launched the Student Aid Reference Desk (Ref Desk), an online “encyclopedia” of student aid-related regulations, legislation, research and other key resources. This new online tool can serve as a helpful tool to financial aid offices, faculty advisors, and admissions staffers. 4. United Educators Insurance Coronavirus FAQs Part 4: Mandatory Vaccinations, Student Activities, Study Abroad, Testing United Educators Insurance has released the fourth in a series of COVID-19 FAQs to help college administrators respond to situations and concerns brought forward by the epidemic. This page focuses on such topics as mandatory vaccination policies, study abroad, and modifications to student activities. We hope it is useful to you to have all of this in one place for your teams as you work on completing/refining the reopening plan for your institution. The new additions are in red.
