KADEISHA BUCHANAN – WEST VIRGINIA UNIVERSITY

Buchanan, a senior, has completed her career on the Mountaineers’ Women’s Soccer Team. She finds time to volunteer in the Morgantown community and her hometown of , . In Morgantown, Buchanan helps raise funds for breast cancer research through the WVU annual 4v4 Tournament and individual fundraisers. She volunteers with Stepping Stones, a local organization that fosters recreation for people with disabilities. Buchanan also volunteers at all the WVU women’s soccer camps and youth clinics. While at home in Toronto, she volunteers with local soccer clubs, coaching and speaking to youth soccer players.

Among her many athletic and academic achievements, Buchanan is a member of the Canadian National Soccer Team and the winner of the 2016 Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Award. The MAC Hermann Trophy Award is ’s version of the Heisman Trophy. Buchanan is carrying a 3.07 grade point average and pursuing a degree in Multidisciplinary Studies.

ANTHONY WHEELER – UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS

Wheeler is sophomore on the Longhorn Football team. Wheeler is being recognized for his leadership, academics, and commitment to service in the Austin, Texas community. Academically, Wheeler is a two-time Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll winner and a two-time Athletic Director’s Honor Roll winner. In his freshman year, he was named to the All-Big 12 Academic Rookie Team. Within the Austin community, Wheeler participated on the “Explore UT Student-Athlete Panel.” This is a leadership panel to meet with elementary students in the Austin community. He also participated in the “Millennium Youth Complex,” interacting with children during a service event.

Wheeler has yet to declare a major. He is currently carrying a 3.1185 cumulative grade point average.
