APRIL 2017 KADEISHA BUCHANAN – WEST VIRGINIA UNIVERSITY Buchanan, a senior, has completed her career on the Mountaineers’ Women’s Soccer Team. She finds time to volunteer in the Morgantown community and her hometown of Toronto, Canada. In Morgantown, Buchanan helps raise funds for breast cancer research through the WVU annual 4v4 Tournament and individual fundraisers. She volunteers with Stepping Stones, a local organization that fosters recreation for people with disabilities. Buchanan also volunteers at all the WVU women’s soccer camps and youth clinics. While at home in Toronto, she volunteers with local soccer clubs, coaching and speaking to youth soccer players. Among her many athletic and academic achievements, Buchanan is a member of the Canadian National Soccer Team and the winner of the 2016 Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Hermann Trophy Award. The MAC Hermann Trophy Award is college soccer’s version of the Heisman Trophy. Buchanan is carrying a 3.07 grade point average and pursuing a degree in Multidisciplinary Studies. ANTHONY WHEELER – UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS Wheeler is sophomore on the Longhorn Football team. Wheeler is being recognized for his leadership, academics, and commitment to service in the Austin, Texas community. Academically, Wheeler is a two-time Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll winner and a two-time Athletic Director’s Honor Roll winner. In his freshman year, he was named to the All-Big 12 Academic Rookie Team. Within the Austin community, Wheeler participated on the “Explore UT Student-Athlete Panel.” This is a leadership panel to meet with elementary students in the Austin community. He also participated in the “Millennium Youth Complex,” interacting with children during a service event. Wheeler has yet to declare a major. He is currently carrying a 3.1185 cumulative grade point average. .

Press Release FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Russell Luna July 6, 2021 469.524.1009 / [email protected] OU’s Webb and BU’s Butler Named Big 12 Athletes of the Year IRVING, Texas -- Oklahoma gymnast Anastasia Webb and Baylor men’s basketball player Jared Butler were named the 2020-21 Big 12 Athletes of the Year. Webb is the seventh Sooner female and third consecutive to win the accolade. Butler is the third Baylor male to win the award and first since 2014. Nominees are submitted by Big 12 institutions and selected, based on athletic performance, academic achievement and citizenship, by a media panel as well as fan voting conducted through Big12Sports.com. Webb won three individual NCAA Championships with triumphs in the vault, floor exercise and all-around. She became just the ninth gymnast in NCAA history to accomplish the feat of winning three titles in one championship. Additionally, she placed third on the balance beam and seventh on bars to lead OU to a runner-up finish. A native of Morton Grove, Illinois, Webb was named the 2021 Honda Sport Award for women’s gymnastics. She was selected as the 2021 Big 12 Co-Gymnast of the Year and was the WCGA Region 4 Gymnast of the Year. Also, she was selected as a finalist for the AAI Award. The senior won Big 12 titles in the balance beam and vault. Webb collected five All-America honors and was the only gymnast nationally to earn first-team recognition on all four events and the all-around. In 2021, she collected 33 event titles and scored four perfect 10s.

2020 Canada Soccer Annual Report
A MESSAGE FROM DR. NICK BONTIS, PRESIDENT Even with so much of the world’s attention focused on the COVID-19 pandemic over the past year, there has been a parallel conversation in many organizations around equity, diversity and inclusion. Whether prompted by the death last May of George Floyd, or simply brought into sharper focus by our collective reckoning with systemic racism, representation is something that no organization – including Canada Soccer – can afford to ignore. That is one reason we have been so focused on diversity in the first 100 days since I was entrusted with the role of President. Our Board of Directors needs to be more reflective of the athletes we represent. It needs to look more like our National Teams. When I was elected, we had two female Directors out of 14, and that, to me, was unacceptable. Slowly, but surely, we will raise the profile of women on the Board and increase our racial diversity. 2 CANADA SOCCER 2020 ANNUAL REPORT One of the first things I did as President was national pride. That shows the power we have in practices, and leverage our expertise so we’re to recommend Charmaine Crooks as Vice- women’s soccer, and we have to communicate not duplicating our efforts.
