So the project activities will also carry with the same right holders who will involve in the project. 6. Summary of Major outcomes impacts and highlights from the year : Results : 01 - Discrimination Against women reduced SARA has implemented this component with the view of to reduce discrimination against women, reduce male dominance in decision making process and improve awareness on family law. During reporting period below mentioned major outcomes has achieved through implement under this program : 1955 House holds are practicing decision making process both husband and wife in their family out of 6000 family. Discrimination against women has been reduced in 414 families during this period. 2013 family’s women are increased to expend money independently in their essential needs during this period. Targeted Family as well as community people has familiar with gender issue 1441 House Holds are aware about family law out of 6000 family. 2338 Family’s women are empowered through implement different activity of JHUP for these reason women participations are involving in social works. Results : 02- Respect for Human right Increased : SARA has implemented different type of activities under this component to improve democratic practice and improve awareness & action taken on human rights to increased respect for human rights in the community. During reporting period below mentioned major outcomes has achieved through implement this program : Community people has familiar with Human rights through Conducted 581Session on Human Rights Issue at Village level so respects for human rights are increasing in the community due to conduct this session. 1986 families has been aware about UDHR. For this reason violence against human rights are reducing day by day. No. of 3 Initiative has taken by HRWC against violence of Human rights and they will be able to resolve the problems. No. of 24 women participants has get social justice against Divorce and Polygamy at working area during this period. VDC and HRWC has taken initiative to protect an early marriage, dowry, polygamy as well as women exploitation. An effective linkage has established between Local Services Providers and community people due to this impact 2589 families has received their need base services from different government department. Results : 03-Access to Health and Nutrition services improved SARA has implemented this program intervention in its working area to improve awareness on health and nutritional status, improve awareness on prevention of HIV/AIDS and improve awareness on water and sanitation. During reporting period below mentioned major outcomes has achieved through implement these program activities: Family members of targeted HHs has become aware on mother and child care due to conduct 763 sessions they are taking special care for pregnant & lactating mothers and their infants. Increasing regular checkup of pregnant mothers in the community. 1332 House Holds out of 6000 are arranged supplementary food to the pregnant mother in their family to ensure a fitness health of pregnant mother and her baby. 973 Family has followed a delivery plan for safe delivery. 286 Save delivery has ensured with in the targeted family during this period. 2650 HHs out of 6000 are maintaining hygienic system in their any domestic work as well as in their family. Establish 1703 HHs out of 6000 are practicing exclusive Brest feeding to ensure good health for their baby. 4407 Family’s children out of 6000 are properly immunized in the community. 2592 family’s knowledge has increased to insure nutritional food with Brest feeding for there baby. Adolescent girls of 60 adolescent groups are receiving knowledge on reproductive health through conduct 588 sessions. Community people are aware on HIV/AIDS both adult male & female and Adolescent girls due to conduct awareness sessions for this reason they are taking preventive initiative to protect HIV/AIDS. Hygienic latrine and safe water using tendency are increased in the community and water born disease are reducing to conducted different awareness meeting and Courtyard sessions. Annual Report-2010 - 2 - Results : 04-Environment and Disaster Management skill Improved. People of rural areas generally use fire wood for cooking, boiling water and other domestic works. Trees are being cut down for the purpose of making fire wood. Cutting trees is harmful for healthy environment. Fire wood is sold at the high price in the market. Homestead tree plantation helps us to be economically developed when trees and fruits are sold when necessary. It also protects our houses from storms and cyclones. Vegetable gardening is a source of income and its helps people to live healthy and sound body. During reporting period below mentioned major outcomes has achieved through implement the activities: Community people of targeted villages are receiving knowledge on Environment & Climate change related issues through 448 Conduct sessions on Environment & Climate Change at village level. 3419 Family has ensured tree plant at their homestead to save from affect of climate changes and environment pollution. 1832 Family out of 6000 has ensured vegetable garden in front of their home due to establish these gardening they have earn extra income by sailing their production after mitigate their family needs and it have also ensured food security of their family. 814 Families are maintaining coping mechanism process to mitigate flood situation. There are 20 RR map are available in 20 Village out of 60. 03 Bio-Gas plants has planted at Mymensingh, Durgapur and Purbadhola upazila. to a). Proper utilize cow dung b). Save environment c). Save family money. But Community people has more encouraged to see this demonstration plant SARA has distributed 60 Save oven in the community. On the other hand 226 community people has installed save oven by their own initiative. 2111 Families are using compost fertilizer/organic fertilizer in vegetable cultivation process due to this case our environment is getting its neutrality. Results : 05- Promote Sexual Reproductive Health Rights SARA has incorporated different type of activities to promote sexual reproductive health rights (SRHR) according to the approval of Diakonia. This result has incorporated in this project ending of year’2010. It is a new initiative of JHUP. Only a two days long staff orientation on SRHR has been completed under this component. The all staffs of JHUP has well oriented on SRHR and they are capable to conduct any kinds of activities regarding SRHR from now onwards through this orientation. Result : 07- Program Management improved To improve the program management SARA has organized different type of orientation and staff development training. So capacity of staff performance improved through this initiatives. Simultaneously SARA has been developing a result base monthly reporting system and monitoring system. On the other hand SARA also established a decentralized management system for JHUP to ensure program quality. Intervention/Implementation 7. Overall Goals/objectives and operative project goal (project purpose) Overall Goals : Ensure improved quality of life, gender equality, human rights dignity for underprivileged communities in selected area. Objectives : Help and facilitated the target people to be aware and self reliance by building up their own organization. Project Purpose : Reduced vulnerability of 12000 underprivileged target member from injustice, inhuman, disaster and violence’s. Analysis of achievement according to higher objectives: SARA had completed its major targeted activities during this period. Target people become aware on Discrimination against women as well as Gender, respect on human rights, Health, Hygiene & Nutrition, Climate Change and disaster management & Food security. VDC feels the needs of people’s institution. HRWC, DMC and Adolescent groups are work together with VDC maintaining an effective coordination. Local service providers are playing a proactive role in the community. Establish effective linkage between VDC and local service providers. Increasing women participation in the social development work. Increasing Health, Hygiene and Nutrition status in the community. Reducing violence against human rights in the working area.
