This project would appeal to our investor, Cindy Holland, because she’s been involved in greenlighting shows like , and GLOW, which star women and women of color within the same age range as the protagonists in Instafamous. Holland said in an interview with that Netflix “definitely has an interest in great programming for women”. Based on the current collection of programming, Netflix is clearly searching for shows containing diversity and unique female voices, as well as shows that promote social commentary on cultural issues. Instafamous would fit well into their existing selection of female centric comedies.

Female-driven television shows have been listed in Netflix’s Top “Must-Watch List” of 2018, including GLOW, My Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and Orange is the New Black. Netflix’s success with their female-led dramedy and comedy projects would make Instafamous a perfect contender to hook the interest of similar viewers, primarily women ages 18-24. Trapped in a contractual friendship, China and Brie begin their year together hating one another. Brie even goes as far as to date Brie’s best friend and secret love, Manny, just to spite her. But after being forced to spend time with each other Brie and China eventually learn to coexist. Just as Brie and China reach a point where they truly start to become friends Manny confesses to Brie that he has feelings for her and Brie admits she feels the same way. They break the news to China just as the contract is about to expire and China, blind with rage, forges Brie’s signature, trapping her in their friendship contract for another year. China Rose, 23 - A Hollywood starlet born rich and famous who has only become more so as her life has progressed. What she lacks in book smarts she makes for in viciousness and contouring abilities. Manny Camara, 23 - Brie’s best friend from high school. He’s got that hipster charm and is a true and loyal friend to Brie. Brie has feelings for Manny but he’s never expressed romantic interest in her. Celebrity drama and reality TV are his guilty pleasures and he has a huge crush on China.

Melanie Robinson, 50 - Brie’s mom and an LA Neo-Hippie. Since leaving her job as Angelica’s assistant after a mental breakdown, Melanie has denounced the Hollywood lifestyle and preoccupies herself with granola, yoga and being “woke”. Iran Rose, 27 - An international pop-punk super star and China’s older sister. She’s beautiful, cool, successful, adored by millions and perpetually rubbing her accomplishments in her sister’s face.
