IT IS HEREBY NOTIFIED for general information that His Majesty's Exequatur empowering Mr Aubrey E. Lippincott to act as United States Consul at Jeru• salem received His Majesty's signature on the 5th May, 1947. By His Excellency's Command, II. L. G. GURNEY 9th June, 1947. Chief Secretary. IT IS HEREBY NOTIFIED for general information that His Majesty's Exequatur . empowering Professor Olgierd Gorka to act as Polish Consul-General at Jerusalem received His Majesty's signature on the 13th May, 1947. III. • The High Commissioner directs it to be notified for general information that Monsieur WIDAR BAGGE has been appointed by the Swedish Government as Consul General of Sweden at Jerusalem with jurisdiction including Palestine and that he lias been recognised by His Excellency in that capacity. 2. His Majesty's Exequatur empowering Monsieur WIDAR BAGGE to act as Consul General of Sweden at ,Jerusalem received His Majesty's signature on the 21st April, 1947.' By His Excellency's Command, H. L. G. GURNEY 7th June, 1947. Chief Secretary. (N/74/31). NOTICE. The High Commissioner has given permission to Lieutenant Colonel G. T. PALEY, O.B.E., D.C.M., E.D., late of Trans-Jordan Frontier Force, to retain the local rank of Lieutenant Colonel on retirement from the Force, and he is permitted, to wear uniforms on special occasions when attending ceremonials and entertainments of a military nature and on other occasions when the wrearing of uniforms would appear appropriate. 7th June, 1947. British subjects and Palestinian citizens who propose to proceed to a destination on the Continent which requires overland transit, through Austria, are advised to apply for transit permits through Austria to the Officer Commanding, Pass and Permit Office, Headquarters Palestine, The offices are situated at the old Palace Hotel, Mamilla Road, Jerusalem. Foreigners including stateless persons should apply for transit permits through Austria to Dr Karl Seidmann, 36, Yehuda Halevi Street, .Tel Aviv, who is authorised to accept applications for permission to enter Austria, for eventual reference to the Austrian Government for consideration. Travellers are warned that the British Embassy in Rome are unable to obtain transit permits through Austria without a minimum delay of three weeks and it is therefore in the interest of those concerned to obtain the transit, permit prior to departure from Palestine.
