Neil Page Goalkeeper Nickname Pagey, signed from Bustleholme, big presence in the penalty area, stepped up to the mark at this level, taking his opportunity with both hands. Featured in our run to the League Cup final last season Jake Foster- Defender, quiet and unassuming off the pitch, signed from Bustleholme last season, strong defensively. Mitch Plows—Defender Mitch has progressed through the junior Tipton Town ranks and the youth team, 2nd team reaching 2 finals 2010-2011 now valuable member of the first team squad. Featured in our run to the League Cup final last season Paul Henley—Defender Previously with Gornal Athletic and played in the JW Hunt Cup season 2010-11. Strong in the air, powerful tackler Eric Bowen—Defender Talented full back who can play in a number of positions previously at Walsall as a youngster. Injuries curtailed his appearances last season. Rory McFarlane – Defender Previously Captain with Bartley Green, over the last few years has won the Birmingham Floodlit Trophy and the Smedley Cook Trophy. Featured in our run to the League Cup final last season Danny Forrest- Midfield Wolves Trainee who has previously played for Bilston and Walsall Wood. Was involved with the squad for our FA cup Game at Carlisle Adam Wattley-Central Midfield Previously with Tividale and Bustleholme, who he won the league cup with Matt Martin- Midfield Skilful midfielder Signed from Gornal where he won the League & cup double Tom Tonks—Midfield Previous clubs Tipton Town, Brocton and Stafford Rangers. Reached two cup finals 2010- 2011—one for the future. Featured in our run to the League Cup final last season Max Black- Midfield Re-signed for Tipton Town from Chasetown where he came from a very successful reserve side.. Previously played for Tipton Town youth under the guidance of Tony Williams. He was also a league cup finalist season 2011/2012 Lewis Haycock—Striker Another product of the successful Tipton Town academy. Promoted to the first team squad season 2011-12. Featured in our run to the League Cup final last season. Talented with an eye for a goal. Nigel Penney –Striker Top scorer from the reserves now promoted to the first team, previously with Blackheath where he won the league cup Jamie Clews – striker Prolific Goal scorer,Signed from Bustleholme where he had 7 years and won the league cup Kevin Moncheu – Striker Skilful French Striker who has been in England for 3 years, Signed form Darlaston Karl Edwards– Recent signing, prolific striker in the non-league game The management team for this season 2012-2013 are Ian Long promoted from assistant at the start of the season, Manager with Keron Jackson as his assistant and Wes Cox as coach. Adam Powers is joining us this season as Physio and Chris Essex has also joined the Backroom staff Tipton Town Club History Tipton Town FC was originally formed in 1948 under the name of Ocker Hill United and for many years played in the Wolverhampton & District Amateur League. In 1965, the West Midlands (Regional) League decided to increase their size by adding another division (Division One) to supplement the Premier Division & Ocker Hill United, who were enjoying a highly successful period, were invited to join. The offer was duly accepted for the launch of the new division in 1967. In an effort for the club to become more identifiable with the town of Tipton and its residents, changed its name to Tipton Town FC. Despite elevation in status, the club performed well with manager Graham Bunch setting a high standard for others to follow. During these early years the club hired the private work’s ground of Lee Howl & Co but thereafter in conjunction with Tipton Harriers, became founder members of the Tipton Sports Union, which was in effect a nineteen acre multi-purpose sports complex constructed out of former waste and spoilage land. Pioneering secretary, William Powell, whose earlier foresight and unbounded energies helped the club achieve so much, then became Chairman and latterly President after former chairman Harold Hackett arrived on the scene in 1993. The club’s previous most successful period occurred in 1984 when both the WMRL Division One and League Cup were won under the stewardship of Geoff Barnsley. This culminated with the club erecting a spectator stand on the Tipton sports site and subsequently being elevated into the Premier Division. Our initial season in the Premier Division was a highly creditable one, taking the division by storm finishing 5oth in the final table. It was at this time that a young lad forced his way into the WMRL side, having created many goal scoring feats in the club’s reserves and the Sunday morning Youth XI. That young lad was none other than Steve Bull who of course has rewritten history with Wolverhampton Wanderers and England after and earlier blooding with West Bromwich Albion. The latter club kindly donated a total. Of £1000 to Tipton Town FC, but on reflection it was a great pity that none of us could foresee how events would subsequently turn out and how much money we could have attained. Tipton were beaten to promotion by Malvern Town in 2003/2004 but the side came back stronger than ever for 2004/2005 season when promotion was achieved with four league games to spare, Tipton dominated the league from start to finish and were only beaten 4 times in a season which saw over 100 goals netted. Tipton also achieved our best run in the FA Vase where we were beaten in a fifth round replay by Jarrow Roofing after previously despatching much fancied Newcastle Town and Durham City. The West Midlands League Cup was also won when despite been a goal down Tipton turned the game round to beat Ledbury 2-1 and cap a memorable season, manager John Hill was crown the West Midlands League manager of the year and striker Lee Rollason scooped the Players Award. In Tipton’s first Midland Alliance campaign they came a creditable 11th and were beaten finalists in the Walsall Senior Cup second season in the MFA the club achieved a 5th place finish and were beaten finalists in the League Cup losing to double winners Leamington 2-1 after extra time. Tipton were Walsall Senior Cup runners up for the second time in 2009 when Rushall Olympic won 2- 1 in the final minute, Tipton had previously beaten the current holders Boldmere St Michaels. A record ever points total and finish was achieved in the 2010-11 season with Tipton finishing in second place securing 100 points and also reaching the first round of the FA Cup v Carlisle for the first time in the club’s history. Craig Harris was promoted to Manager for season 2011/2012 after a successful 2010/2011 campaign with the second team in the Midland Football Combination Reserve Division. Craig succeeded John Hill. Last season Tipton finished ninth in the MFA and also reached the League cup Final played at Bescot stadium. Craig resigned at the end of the season and our current Manager is Ian Long who was promoted from being assistant last season. Ian brings along a wealth of knowledge of grass roots level and has alongside him as his assistant Keron Jackson. Keron has joined from Evesham where he was first team coach season 2011/2012. The club looks to build both on and off the pitch for the 2012-13 season. Our club honours include: FA Cup first round v Carlisle 2010/2011 Midland Alliance League Runners Up 2010/2011 Walsall Senior Cup Runners Up 2005/2006, 2008/2009 Midland Alliance League Cup Runners Up 2006/2007 & 2011/2012 West Midlands Regional League Premier Division Champions 2004/2005 .

Rushall have made a solid start to this season’s campaign suffering only one defeat in their first 7 league games. A competitive club that are always in and around the playoffs, they will be looking to continue that form. Managed by former Barwell players, Liam Macdonald and Nick Green, they will have done their homework on us, so as ever we will be expecting a tough encounter. A well run club from top to bottom and in their second year with an artificial pitch the club is a good role model for non-league football. Both clubs know that this encounter between us will take place again at Rushall on Saturday in the Buildbase FA Trophy, it’s ironic how these consecutive fixtures seem to happen. We finally got our first win against Nuneaton Borough, which has brought a lot of relief to all connected with the club. I’m sure that will bring a lot of confidence, let’s hope we can kick on from here and get back into the mix on the league front. Finally for tonight, I’m pleased to announce that Jason Ashby owner of UK Flooring Direct has agreed to extend his sponsorship for a further 3 years with the club. He has also made a five figure donation to our fundraising effort for our 3G pitch project.     BOLDMERE ST MICHAELS FOOTBALL CLUB CLUB HISTORY The Mikes were founded in 1883 as a Youth football team attached to the local church Bible class. They played friendly matches against other local church teams until 1912. Eventually, the desire for competitive football became evident so the teams entered a local league. As the years passed, the boys wanted to continue playing football together so moved into open age football. After progressing through several minor local the club entered the Birmingham & District Amateur League. In 1920-21 season was successful with the capture of the Aston Villa Cup, The Birmingham Shield and the Cadbury Cup. However a split in the club occurred and a team called `Boldmere` was formed to play elsewhere. Several seasons later the two teams reformed and adopted black and white colours for their playing kit in 1925. Either side of the Second World War, Boldmere was amongst the leading amateur clubs in the country and immediately after winning the Birmingham & District Amateur League Championship, the club entered the Central Amateur League for the 1937-38 season, finishing 8th out of twelve teams. The following season saw an improvement to 5th place. In Easter 1939 Boldmere ventured into Europe to play in the Verviers Tournament in Belgium. Under the captaincy of legendary Captain Harold Spencer, The Mikes triumphed and returned with the trophy to be greeted by the Lord Mayor at Birmingham New Street Station. However before a ball was kicked in the 1939-40 season, footballing activities ceased as War broke out on 3rd September 1939. With hostilities over, Boldmere marked the return to normality by taking the opening post-war Central Amateur League Championship on goal average from Coventry Amateurs.

Last Saturday we played Halstead in the FA Cup, a match which we were obviously expected to win. Sometimes that’s a no-win situation unless you win the game very convincingly. We got off to a bright start and could have been more than 3 goals up at half-time, and although the 2nd half didn’t start how the 1st finished we picked up the pace and shifted the ball Club Officials: very well to end the game very much in control with a real positive feeling amongst the lads. Myself and Darren can’t fault the lads in the way they are progressing and taking on new ideas. This puts us in a really positive position coming into this game. Unfortunately, we lose Matty Richardson, who is moving to America to continue his studies, but we are confident that the squad numbers will soon be back to where they were, so watch this space. Let’s hope come 4.45pm on Saturday we are off the mark as the buzz around the ground is fantastic at the moment and the fans and committee deserve some positivity.
