Travel Made Simple Overview London Midland Sustainability Report 2016 Travel Made Simple Overview This has been an important year for London Midland. The company received a direct award contract to continue operating the West Midlands franchise until October 2017. Since 2007, London Midland has been providing train services to and from London in the south, to Birmingham in the Midlands and Liverpool in the north-west. Over 70 million passenger journeys a year are made using on the network. London Midland manages 150 stations and operates 1,300 services a day. London Midland is owned by Govia, the partnership between the Go-Ahead Group (awarded the Fair Tax Mark for responsible tax practice) and Keolis. Govia is the UK’s busiest rail operator, responsible for nearly 30 per cent of UK passenger rail journeys through its three rail companies, GTR (which includes Gatwick Express services), Southeastern and London Midland. Further information on Govia is available at www.govia.info London Midland has won a range of awards, including Best Local Transport Integration, five Rail Business Awards for marketing, public relations and customer information, five Golden Spanner Awards for Engineering, three IOIC awards for internal communication and three Railstaff Awards for Outstanding Customer Service, Lifesaving and Charity Work.     International Edition – 14 November 2016 Countdown to launch of France’s first urban cable car On Saturday 19 November, Keolis will launch France’s first urban cable car in the city of Brest in north-west Brittany. The system features the vertical crossing of cabins – a world first – and will link the left bank station, situated on a hill above the naval base, to the right bank station located inside the Ateliers des Capucins. We again feature a Key Keg Bar and Foreign Beer Fridge. DWAF is once again judging several competitions including the Champion Beer of the West Midlands.

    Milton Keynes rail services – Matter 5 – Transport – 24 th July – Jim Middleton – REP/269971 1. Since I wrote my initial submission there have been some positive changes so I have revised my statement. Firstly on Crossrail there is now the inclusion in the Network Rail Programme of a Crossrail extension to join the West Coast mainline near Willesden. I petitioned and appeared before both the Commons and Lords Crossrail Select Committees to put my basic case that the Crossrail services proposed were a waste of expensive tunnelling under Central London and that Crossrail should be a Thameslink style regional rail scheme. Not a downgrading of main railway lines to a London Underground type operation that hardly crosses the M25. The Committees were only allowed to consider details of the scheme and not whether it made transport sense but particularly the Lords Select Committee encouraged me to continue my campaign. 2. The recent work done by the wider rail industry for their report London and SE RUS confirms that the Crossrail scheme is poor use of the central tunnels and the 28 trains out of the 48 each hour not getting west of Paddington are wasted. The RUS proposes a link to WCML which will allow trains from WCML to access directly Paddington, Bond Street, Tottenham Court Road, Farringdon, Liverpool Street and Canary Wharf. Potentially there are huge benefits for Milton Keynes if the opportunity is taken – particularly when HS2 allows more fast suburban services into London. 3. Although the West Coast mainline has been upgraded at enormous expense with years of chronic disruption and weeks of blockades for Milton Keynes residents what has emerged nothing like what people were expecting.

    Good evening and a very warm welcome to the players, officials and supporters of Rushall Olympic, we do hope you enjoy your short stay with us before having a safe journey home. Rushall have made a solid start to this season’s campaign suffering only one defeat in their first 7 league games. A competitive club that are always in and around the playoffs, they will be looking to continue that form. Managed by former Barwell players, Liam Macdonald and Nick Green, they will have done their homework on us, so as ever we will be expecting a tough encounter. A well run club from top to bottom and in their second year with an artificial pitch the club is a good role model for non-league football. Both clubs know that this encounter between us will take place again at Rushall on Saturday in the Buildbase FA Trophy, it’s ironic how these consecutive fixtures seem to happen. We finally got our first win against Nuneaton Borough, which has brought a lot of relief to all connected with the club. I’m sure that will bring a lot of confidence, let’s hope we can kick on from here and get back into the mix on the league front. Finally for tonight, I’m pleased to announce that Jason Ashby owner of UK Flooring Direct has agreed to extend his sponsorship for a further 3 years with the club. He has also made a five figure donation to our fundraising effort for our 3G pitch project.     5 abc Public report Report to Scrutiny Board 3 24 June 2009 Scrutiny Co-ordination Committee 24 June 2009 Cabinet 29 June 2009 Report of Director of City Development Title Coventry's Core Strategy 1 Purpose of the Report 1.1 The purpose of this report is to advise of the representations received to the Core Strategy and to seek authority to submit it for examination subject to certain minor amendments 2 Recommendations 2.1 The Scrutiny Board 3 are asked to consider this report and convey their comments to the Cabinet 2.2 The Cabinet are asked to: (a) consider the responses to the representations received, including a petition; and (b) consider the comments of Scrutiny Board 3; and (c) authorise the submission to examination of the Core Strategy as amended in accordance with the attached schedule. 3 Information/Background 3.1 The Core Strategy sets out the vision, objectives and strategic policies for the future development of the City over the next twenty years. It will be a major part of Coventry's Local Development Framework (LDF) and will be the spatial expression of a combination of the Sustainable Community Strategy, regional planning policy and national planning policy. The Core Strategy and other parts of the LDF will form the statutory development plan for the City, along with the Regional Spatial Strategy (RSS) for the West Midlands. 3.2 The LDF will also include a City Centre Area Action Plan, and an "emerging strategy" is expected to be published for consultation in September 2009. This will build on the work undertaken so far in developing the Core Strategy and various different quarters of the city centre and in particular the Jerde masterplan and the Draft Urban Design Framework Supplementary Planning Document which Planning Committee has approved for public consultation.
