More recently, recognition and respect for the LGBTQ community has become part of USF’s commitment to diversity. Below are some select historical points that underscore the institution’s long-term commitment to diversity in all of its forms. Many American institutions of higher education partially reflect the nation’s immigration experience. During the nineteenth century, however, St Ignatius College was the immigration experience.
