Day 3: Small Forward Day 9:00-10:00: Warmups ● 9:00-9:15: Stretch/Roll Call o Spread the children out across the court. 8 lines. ● 9:15-9:30: Explain the camp o Introduce coaches, curriculum, and schedule ● 9:30-9:45: Form six lines on the baseline. o Regular: Running, Back pedal, high knee, power skip, karaoke, defense slide, Frankenstein, lunges, bear-crawl ● 9:45-10:00: Ball Warm-up o Right hand, left hand, V dribble, backpedal dribble

10:00-11:00: Drill Stations ● Drill Station 1: Chair curl (Pump-fake, Jab Step, pump-pass) o Place two chairs on both side of the 3- line. Form two lines at the baseline each starting where the baseline and the line meet. The coach will stand at the top of the 3-point line. Players will sprint to the top of the 3- point line facing the chair and will then call for the ball. Once the ball is received, the player will perform a jab step with their outside food, and transition into a driving layup. Move the chairs around the court to spice up the drill. Emphasize the pump fake and the exact footwork. ● Drill Station 2: squared-to-post o Put 5 cones around the 3-point line, each with another coned lined up with them in the middle. Have one cone dead center of the key. Have the kids start at either edge by dribbling towards the basket. Once they hit the 2nd cone, instruct them to post up dribble. Once they hit the cone in the middle, they back-pedal dribble to their original spot. Move on to the next. Emphasize protecting the ball ● Drill Station 3: Snake chop defense o Set two chairs in the middle of the key, with about 3 feet of vertical space between them (Chairs can be substituted for players). Start a line under for the kids under the basket. The coach will stand at the top of the key, and another player will stand at the corner wing. The players standing in line will have 5 seconds to run through and around the chairs and get to the player at the wing using the “chop” technique. After 5 seconds, the coach will pass to the wing player, and the player will have the freedom to either drive or shoot. Emphasize setting your feet on defense and NOT resorting to carless jumping. ● Drill Station 4: Spin move o Set a line at the top of the 3-point-line. The coach should stand a little behind the free-throw line. The player will attempt a spin-move around the coach for a lay-up. Emphasize staying low.
