Jerry has been and continues to be actively involved in community organizations, to include Boy Scouts of America for which he received the Silver Beaver Award from the Chattahoochee Council in 1984; Explorer Advisor of the Year in 1985, Air Explorers 1979-1991; Past President, Chattahoochee Council Eagle Scout Alumni Association. He is a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans and National Eagle Scout Associations. He also was a National Officer of Sertoma International and is presently a member of the Sunrise Rotary Club of Key West, Florida. He was elected to the Board of Directors of 1800 Atlantic Condominium Association in December 2006 and serves as Vice President.

Jerry’s outside interests include flying, boating and scuba diving. Mr. Sanders is a Certified Flight Instructor for single engine and multi-engine land aircraft and instrument ratings, holding a Commercial Pilot’s Certificate with over 6,900 logged flight hours.
