Search Tools and Strategies:

• Boolean (AND, OR, NOT) • Listing search terms • Citation generator (Abstract page tool) • MyEBSCOHost Account (free) • CTRL + F keyword search • Publication Finder • Help icons • “Quotation marks” • Interlibrary Loan form • References in great articles • Limiters (full text, peer review, date, etc.) • Truncat*

Websites -- Use information literacy skills whenever online and ask for help! SWOCC Library is open M-F 8:30am-7pm and our phone number is 541-888-7270. You can email me at [email protected] and I’m happy to arrange Zoom appointments, too!

• Mashable infographic on searching Google • Lifehacker infographic on searching Google • Purdue Online Writing Lab • SWOCC Library homepage (Coastline catalog and academic databases) • PubChem -- Open database of chemical information provided by the National Institutes of Health.

Databases -- You can use the databases both on and off campus. When you’re at home, you’ll be asked to log in with your 7-digit student ID number. If your ID doesn’t contain 7-digits, add zeros to the beginning until it does. Example: 678956 would become 0678956.
