Maharashtra is developed and progressive state in terms of human development. Biodiversity conservation and natural resource. Sustainable conservation is the most important for state forest department. As per forest policy 1988, there should be 33 percent forest area of total geographical area. In 2015-16 budget of state, provision of financing the scheme for “forest park on forest and non-forest land for biodiversity and nature conservation. Under this scheme there is provision of establishing two biodiversity parks in every districts of Maharashtra state. Main purpose of establishing biodiversity park and nature conservation centre is as follow-

1) Establish smruti van (Remembrance park) where people nurture trees in remembrance of dear persons to them.

2) Create different sub categories of garden of different tree species, like- bamboo garden, Cactus garden, rose garden, tulsi garden etc.

3) Conservation and protection of rare and ornamental plants.

4) In this modern lifestyle era to develop and provide relaxation and happy moments among people.

5) Provide facility for study of flora of indigenous type like garden etc, also provide game park, children park and entertainment facility.

6) Create awareness about environment and nature conservation among new generation.

7) Spread information regarding value of biodiversity and nature conservation through nature interpretation centre.

Based on these basic inputs , Biodiversity Park and Nature conservation centre proposed at compartment no.503 of Forest Range, at village Upatkheda tal- Dist- ( Maharashtra) is on 10 Ha land of Joint forest Management committee . The proposed project layout will have following structures - Entrance gate and ticket counter, open air theatre , Canteen, Ofiice, Fountain, canteen, Toilet, office, Cycle track, bird watching tower, Dome/pagoda, Children play area, small bridges, lake, Rose garden, cactus garden, Rashi garden, Tulshi garden, Melghat garden, Ayurvedic garden, Butterfly garden, Gram Smruti garden, Trifala garden, Dashmul garden, Nursery, Bamboo garden,Bel garden Nakshtra garden, Ashok garden, ,Harit sena Van,Warkari Van, Nature trail etc. This area is on Chikhaldara-Achalpur road, so in future large number of visitors are expected to visit on daily basis.

As per Guildelines No Objection Certificate issued from Dy. Conservator of forest Amravati (Survey. /Forestland/7343/2015-16) Dated- 26-11-2015. As a user agency Social Forestry division , Amravati plans to develop a Biodiversity park and nature conservation centre at compartment no 503 in Paratwada Forest range ,at Upatkheda.

The aim of project is to spread information on Biodiversity to local people, spread awareness among local as well as tourist regarding Biodiversity conservation . In the said project location variety of tree species may available from Melghat region , it is part of Amravati forest (Territorial) division and accessible by road.

There will be some cement concrete structures like entrance gate, Toilets, Office building , benches, water tank etc.
