Wyatt, Ayers, Hopper and their new friends Daevid Allen and Mike Ratledge formed the Soft Machine; whereas Sinclair and the others went on to form Caravan. Soft Machine (103), one of the greatest rock bands of all times, started out with albums such as Volume Two (mar 1969 - apr 1969) that were inspired by psychedelic-rock with a touch of Dadaistic (i.e., nonsensical) aesthetics; but, after losing Allen and Ayers, they veered towards a personal interpretation of Miles Davis' jazz-rock on Three (may 1970 - jun 1970), their masterpiece and one of the essential jazz, rock and classical albums of the 1970s. Minimalistic keyboards a` la Terry Riley and jazz horns highlight three of the four jams (particularly, Hopper's Facelift). The other one, Moon In June, is Wyatt's first monumental achievement, blending a delicate melody, a melancholy atmosphere and deep humanity.

Colten, who is also Interfraternity Council (lFEC) Financial Manage- ment Chairman and an Activities Development Board (ADB) member, said recently that he found the new proposal vague and ineffective solu- tion to many of the problems presently plaguing the student govern- ment at MIT, Hammonrd, who is also an IFC Judicial Co'mmittee member, stated that he saw no need for a new tUA constitution: '"what the UA needs is not a new constitution but rather it needs someone -who can do something with the present constitution. One problem Colten sees with the proposal is the method by which students gain a position on the General Assembly (GA). • Fasano Jazz 2014: Sabato 7 Artchipel Orchestra & Phil Miller, Keith Tippett

It was formed in 1982 by composer and guitarist Phil Miller as a vehicle for his own compositions, jazz-inflected tunes notable for their unique melodies, intricacy, passages for passionate soloing, and expert use of rhythm. Cuneiform Records released In Cahoots’ first lp recordings in 1987: 4 tracks on Phil Miller’s lp Cutting Both Ways (1989 Cuneiform CD reissue). Cuneiform is now proud to release In Cahoots’ 8th CD, called All That. Showcasing Miller’s sublime compositions and contributions by others, and absolutely stellar playing by all involved, All That is one smoking disc, quite possibly the band’s best to date. It is essential listening for followers of Phil Miller’s work as well as all fans of fusion and British jazz. Phil Miller is a well-known figure in British jazz-rock in general, and particularly in the Canterbury School, a well- known sub-genre of progressive rock. He began composing and playing guitar in the late 1960s and first joined Delivery, a band to which his brother Steve and childhood friend Pip Pyle belonged. Delivery released the lp Fool’s Meeting (1970 B&C; 1999 Cuneiform CD reissue) before breaking up, some members then forming an improv band, DC & the MBs.
