Science of Wrestling Annual Research Review 2008 David Curby Preface This annual publication is dedicated to the pursuit and use of the knowledge surrounding the noble and timeless sport of wrestling. Each year, an annotated bibliography of the scientific research, published in English, during the year in review, will be compiled and shared with those who work in the wrestling community. It is my hope that this work will spark further research, along with helping to educate those who are in a position to apply this knowledge. I am proud to be affiliated with this great sport. Thanks to our national governing body - USA Wrestling. Thanks to the National Coaching Staff for the support that they have given to me. Rich Bender, Mitch Hull, Dave Bennett, Steve Fraser, Momir Petkovic, Ike Anderson, Terry Steiner, and Anatoly Petrosyan always respond to my questions. Congratulations to Zeke Jones, as he assumes his new position of National freestyle coach. 2016-2017 ANNUAL REPORT 09/01/16-08/31/17 2017 WORLD MEDALISTS 2017 WORLD CHAMPIONS USA Wrestling capped an incredible 2016-17 season with historic performances at the Cadet, Junior, U23, and Senior World Championships. Team USA captured an all-time record THIRTY TWO medals at these events, including fourteen individual World Champions. Women’s Freestyle finished 2nd in the team race at the Senior World Championships, with Junior Men’s Freestyle and Senior Men’s Freestyle both claiming the #1 spot. We’re excited to share our year in review with you, and here’s to another record breaking year on the horizon. U-S-A!!! Photos provided by Tony Rotundo, www.wrestlersarewarriors.com ORGANIZATION MILESTONES NOV 2016 Olympians Helen Maroulis, Kyle Snyder, and Adeline Gray met with former wrestler Chief Justice of the Supreme Court John Roberts in Washington D.C. Chief Justice Roberts’ son is a youth wrestler in New Hampshire. Logan Stieber takes home gold and Alli Ragan DEC 2016 gets silver at the World Championships in Budapest, featuring Non-Olympic weights. USA Wrestling launches the “No Missed Meals” campaign with Chobani, a program JAN 2017 geared towards youth wrestlers, coaches, and parents about the importance of proper nutrition and de-emphasizing weight cutting. Amid intense geo-political animosity, Men’s Freestyle travels to FEB 2017 Kermanshah, Iran to compete in the World Cup. The Iranians were incredibly welcoming and hospitable during our stay. Team USA finished in 2nd place, losing to Iran in the Gold Medal Match. – USA Wrestling enters long term event broadcast rights deals with both FloWrestling MARCH 2017 and TrackWrestling. -

Bunlar; sırasıyla fiziksel hazırlık, teknik hazırlık, taktik hazırlık, tekniksel ve taktiksel hataları düzeltmek ve teorik hazırlık dönemleri olduğu belirtilmektedir. Güreşte fiziksel uygunluk düzeyi başarı ile paraleldir. İstenilen başarının sağlanabilmesi için performans ve uygunluk durumu göz önünde bulundurulmalıdır. Sporcunun aerobik ve anaerobik düzeyde enerjiyi kullanma kapasitesi, kas kuvveti, dayanıklılığı, sinir kas fonksiyonu, kişinin motivasyonu ve taktiklerin oluşturduğu psikolojik faktörler sporda devamlılığın oluşabilmesi için sporcuya kazandırılması gerektiği belirtilmektedir. Bu çalışma da Dünya güreşinde üst basamaklarda kendine yer bulmuş olan Rusya, Azerbaycan, Gürcistan, Türkiye, Amerika ve İran ülkelerinin sporcuların sporda devamlılıklarını ve başarı düzeyleri incelenmiştir. ‘’Farklı ülkelerdeki elit güreşçilerin sportif başarıda devamlılıklarının incelenmesi’’ konulu bu çalışma olimpik düzeyde gerçekleştirilen serbest ve grekoromen stil güreşçilerin
