RICHARD (DICK) FEARN

EDUCATION DICK FEARN has 40 years senior management experience in the 1977 BA (Hons) in Business rail industry in Britain and Ireland. He has a strong track record in Studies, Wolverhampton the management of rail operations and safety, in the delivery of Polytechnic high standards of rail service quality and in the successful 1985 Masters in Transport Economics, Leeds implementation of major capital investment projects in rail UNiversity businesses. 2001 Fellow of the Dick has recently returned to the UK after 10 years as COO and then CEO of Institution of Railway Operators Iarnród Éireann (Irish Railways). With from 1973 to 1996, he had a number of rail operations roles, culminating in senior executive posts as the Divisional Director of the Thames & Chiltern Division and later the South Eastern KEY SKILLS Division of BRʼs Network SouthEast. Ireland 1999-2003 Zone Director, Transfer of South Eastern to private sector Midlands, Railtrack plc/ Dick managed the transfer of the intensive South East and Kent Network Rail, Birmingham operations from BR to the private sector without service interruption, whilst gaining 1998-1999 Zone Director, experience from an ultimately unsuccessful MBO/First Group joint bid for the South Eastern North West, Railtrack plc franchise. Manchester Thames & Chiltern Total Route Modernisation 1996-1998 MD, The South He implemented Network SouthEastʼs total route modernisation scheme for the Thames and Eastern Train Company, London Chiltern lines, between 1990 and 1993, involving complete track and signalling renewal on the Chiltern line and a comprehensive programme of rolling stock renewal and station 1993-1996 Division enhancements on both routes.
