Résumé des principaux faits politiques récents concernant l’Iraq. A. Situation politique 2. Les forces de sécurité iraquiennes, notamment les forces de mobilisation populaire, les Peshmerga et les combattants locaux, avec l’appui de la coalition internationale contre l’État islamique d’Iraq et du Levant (EIIL), ont continué de faire des progrès constants dans la lutte pour libérer Mossoul et Ninive de l’EIIL à la suite de la libération de l’est de Mossoul le 24 janvier. Le 19 février, le Premier Ministre Al-Abadi a ordonné le début des opérations militaires pour libérer l’ouest de Mossoul. Avec l’aide de la coalition internationale contre l’EIIL, les forces de sécurité iraquiennes ont progressé, atteignant le vieux Mossoul et libérant, à la fin de mars, environ la moitié de l’ouest de Mossoul.
