Eligibility Age: Athletes must be 14 years old by 31st December in the year of competition (2016); Athletes with a physical, visual and intellectual impairment will be able to participate in 2016 CAIXA LOTERIAS ATHLETICS OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP; International Athletes must be entered by their NPC; Athletes with a New (N), Review (R) or Confirmed (C) status will be eligible for entry; Athletes with a New (N) or Review (R) status will be scheduled for classification prior to the competition, pursuant with the IPC Athletics rules and regulations. 5. International Classification International Classification will follow the policies and procedures of the IPC Athletics Classification Rules and Regulation. For further information about the Athletics Classification Rules, see: http://www.paralympic.org/athletics o For any questions relating to classification, please contact Laura Danning (IPC Athletics) – [email protected] Physical Impairment International Classification: 16th – 17th May Visual Impairment International Classification: 16th – 17th May Intellectual Impairment International Classification: 16th – 17th May Athletes who required international classification (New (N), Review (R) or Review 2016 [R 2016]) will be scheduled for classification following the close of Final Entry; In order to be classified, an athlete must: o Be registered and/or licensed pursuant to the relevant provisions in the IPC Athletics Rules and Regulations o Be entered into the competition where classification will take place o Have upload Medical Diagnostic Information the SDMS database four weeks prior to Classification. 6. Rules and Competition A limited number of 400 athletes will be accepted for inscription. Only valid entries will be considered on a first come, first served basis. After entries finalized (with payment included), is not possible any withdrawal. The LOC has no process and policies to return the entries fee. The 2016 CAIXA LOTERIAS ATHLETICS OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP will be held in accordance with the IPC ATHLETICS Rules and Regulations 2016-2017, with some specific as follow: The 2016 CAIXA LOTERIAS ATHLETICS OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP will be held in four (4) sessions, being the period in the afternoon and evening (on the days 18th to 20th and on the morning of the day 21th), as follow: There must be a minimum of four (4) athletes to open an event regardless of the number of Country/NPCs participant; Classes may be combined according to the 2016 – 2017 IPC Athletics Rules and Regulations; Each NPC will be able to enter a maximum three (3) athletes per event, per class The event of 100 meters will be held in semifinals and finals, with phase progression according to the 2016 – 2017 Athletics Rules and Regulations; The events of the track will be held in direct finals by the time, will be considering the best mark among all series of each event/class to determine the classification; The events of field (standing) and jump will be contested to the 2016 – 2017 IPC Athletics Rules and Regulations; The events of field (seated throws) will be contested by direct final by marks. All athletes will make your releases in an only entry. Relay events will be considered viable if they have a minimum of three (3) eligible Team/NPC entered; For three (3) Team/NPC, the “minus one rule” will be applied for the prize with medals. Minimum qualification Standard (MQS) MQS is on ATTACHMENT B Available period: from 1st January 2015 to the end of inscription period. o Valid Marks: within the IPC-Athletics international ranking. Events eligible - () in the ATTACHMENT B: Must get the MQS in the event offered. 11. Doping control The Anti-Doping control processes will be carried out in full accordance with the IPC Anti-Doping Control Agreement with total cooperation from the Brazilian Authority of doping Control (ABCD, in Portuguese), International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). 12. Information and Results The 2016 CAIXA LOTERIAS ATHLETICS OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP is an IPC approved competition. Only athletes with international and Review (R) or Confirmed (C) status and holding an active IPC Athletics athlete license for the 2016 season in the IPC SDMS will have their results recognized for record rankings. The official results and information about 2016 CAIXA LOTERIAS ATHLETICS OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP will be there on the website of event. 13. Official Hotel and Meals The LOC will offer some hotels with a special rate for participants. All negotiation (rooms and meals) and payment must need by own Team organization.
