GOLDEN EMPIRE SCOUTS 2017 JAMBOREE TOUR WorldStrides / USA Student Travel is the pre-eminent youth educational travel organization in the country • 45+ years of experience as the partner-of-choice for youth travel programs – Founded by a middle school history teacher in 1967 – Over 4 million participants since inception • Approximately 15,000 youth leaders/teachers and ~275,000 youth travel on our programs annually • Goal is to bring citizenship and history alive for our youth through engaging activities & curriculum • Delivers high quality programs that attract and retain youth leaders year after year • The first youth travel organization to be accredited as a school Jamboree Expertise: Nobody has more understanding of council needs than WorldStrides/USA Student Travel • Nearly 30 years of bringing contingents to Jamboree • More than 400 contingents (councils) and 40,000 scouts served • BSA Youth Protection Training for all staff who have direct interaction with scouts Safety: Overview Safety is the overriding priority of every WorldStrides/USA Student Travel program • Unparalleled safety record in the youth travel industry • Our preparation, procedures, and review allows us to maintain the highest level of insurance in the industry – Councils may be named as additional insured on this $50M policy – All participants receive included emergency accident, medical, and dental coverage • Our safety commitment is so strong that our staff receive BSA Youth Protection Training Safety: Tour Central We maintain a dedicated emergency office and staff in Washington and elsewhere to react to any emergencies and last-minute changes • Tour Central office operates 24 hours a day when groups are in town • Every call is answered by a live person (no computerized answering) • 1-800 number given to all participants, allowing them to always reach help – Each participant wears a badge with emergency details and number on the back • Seasoned staff of 20+ individuals have deep experience in reacting to both common challenges and the real emergencies • Entire operations of the office (phones, systems, staff) can be switched to work from a remote location in the event the office becomes inoperable during an emergency Safety: Additional Services • Doctors on Call – GWU Doctors available 24 hours • Night Chaperones – monitor youth hallways from 10 PM to 5 AM every night • Onsite Coordinators – provide ongoing personalized support to groups at the hotel • Travel & Safety Associations – Thank you for considering WorldStrides / USA Student Travel.
