THE LONDON GAZETTE, 13TH JULY 1989 8195 Public Notices WATER RESOURCES ACT 1963 ANGLIAN WATER AUTHORITY WATER RESOURCES (LICENCES) REGULATIONS 196S Notice of proposal for licences to abstract water Notice is hereby given that the Anglian Water Authority in pursuance of section 52 of the Act have formulated proposals in the form of a draft licence, serial number 6/33/28/47 (incorporating licence nos. 6/33/34/201,6/33/36/146 and 6/33/38/46) to abstract water from boreholes sunk into the chalk underground strata at the following locations: Point of National Grid Proposed maximum quantity Abstraction Map Reference to be abstracted in any (a) daily or (b) annual period In Vttlesford District 1. (b) 560,000 cubic metres The purpose of the abstraction of water from these boreholes will be to maintain and augment the flows and levels of water in nearby springs and surface watercourses which might otherwise be affected by abstractions from proposed or existing public water supply boreholes at Westoe Farm, Bartlow, Cambs; Rivey Hill, Linton, Cambs; Abington Park, Great Abington Cambs; Horseheath Lodge, Horseheath, Cambs; Station Road, Dullingham, Cambs; Long Hill, Cheveley, Suffolk and Lower Links, Woodditton, Cambs, during periods of low natural flows. The springs and watercourses of which the flows and levels are to be maintained and augmented by means of buried pipelines to be laid between the proposed boreholes and the receiving spring or watercourse are as follows: (1) River Granta (Ashdon borehole). (2) Fulbourn Fen and Wilbraham Temple Spring (Dungate Farm borehole). (3) Whiteland and Howe Plantation Springs (New England and Eagle Lane boreholes). (4) Reach Lode and Burwell Springs (New England and Eagle Lane boreholes). (5) Snailwell Spring and Exiling Stream (Horse Racing School borehole). (6) Chippenham Fen (Chippenham borehole). It is intended that abstraction other than for testing and maintenance purposes will take place only at times of low natural flows in the receiving spring or watercourse. A copy of the proposals and of any maps, plans or other documents prepared in connection with them may be inspected free of charge at all reasonable hours during the period beginning on 14th July 1989 and ending on llth August 1989 at the premises of the Authority at Chivers Way, Histon, Cambridge, and at the Post Office, Burwell, Cambs, and at the Post Office, Linton, Cambs. Any person who wishes to make representations about these proposals should do so in writing to the Regional Manager (Environmental Regulation and Fisheries) at Aqua House, London Road, Peterborough, Cambs, before the end of the said period. Copies of all such representations received by the Authority will be forwarded to the Secretary of State for the Environment. After expiry of the said period the Authority will be entitled to pass a resolution by virtue of which the said licences to abstract water shall be deemed to be granted unless the Secretary of State for the Environment, either in consequence of any representations made with respect to the proposals, or otherwise, requires an application for the said licences to be made to him.
