GEOMETRIK DESIGN OF RAILWAYS BETWEEN -SITUBONDO-

Abstrack The train is one of the ground transportation that is widely used by the general public. Most people choosing train as a transport because it can avoid the congestion that occurs on the highway. Besides train also has a regular scheduling system and the price is also relatively inexpensive so people prefer to use that rather than the public bus. Situbondo is one of regencies in East province which does not have a railway. It is also difficult to find a public bus to the area because most are just passing through the long-distance bus . The villagers from Probolinggo and Banyuwangi that do not have a personal vehicle would be difficult to cross the area. In this final project was planned new alternative, that is geometric design of the railway from Probolinggo to Banyuwangi passing Situbondo and along 214.98 km use the R54 rail type. In the process, the methodology used is the collection of secondary data, identify problems, study of literature and analysis of planning data in the form of velocity analysis plan, analysis of rail, types of bearings, heavy ballast used. The expected result of this thesis is the alignment of railway public transport as an alternative to connecting Banyuwangi district, Situbondo and Probolinggo. In addition to provide new iii

transportation can also reduce the capacity of the road in the north coast area located in Situbondo.
