It's night time in the big city and daylight lingers on in the distance, casting reflections in the chandeliers hanging from the ceiling of the Wilbury room of the Saint James Hotel where the mayor Augustino van der Kooninger sporting a platinum pompadour in a rented tuxedo hosts a dinner celebrating his new term in residence. The kid collects empty plates and tops up crystal glasses, chardonnay, claret and brandy in a never ending choreograpy.
