Pequea Valley School District Class of 2016 Laptop Purchase Information

Once again, Pequea Valley School District is offering every graduating senior the opportunity to purchase the laptop he/she has been using throughout high school. Students who were enrolled at CTC for their senior year may also purchase a laptop, but they are not guaranteed to receive the same ones they were originally issued as freshmen. All laptops that are for sale are 13.3” silver MacBook Pros. Purchase requirements, along with hardware and software specifications, are as noted below:

PURCHASE REQUIREMENTS • Purchase price: ¹ Laptop with updated operating system and NO additional software: $160.00 plus 6% PA sales tax for a total of $169.60. ¹ Laptop with updated operating system and a Microsoft Office for Mac installation CD (must have been pre-ordered during the limited- time offer period in April): $169.43 plus 6% PA sales tax for a total of $179.60. • Intention to purchase must be declared by May 31, 2016. Return the attached form along with a $50.00 minimum deposit to Mrs. Smith in the high school Media Center. • Acceptable forms of payment are cash, check, or money order. All checks are to be made payable to Pequea Valley School District. • To prepare laptops for transfer of ownership, they will need to be re-imaged with an updated version of the operating system and have computer admin rights transferred to the purchaser. Therefore, those purchasing laptops will need to turn them in along with all other seniors on June 1 and 2. • During the updating process all files will be deleted. It is the student’s responsibility to back up all files to a thumb drive, external hard drive, or cloud service. • Laptops will be ready for pickup the week of June 13. They may be picked up at the PVSD District Office any time Monday, June 13 through Thursday, June 16, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. • All purchasers will receive a reminder about pickup via their preferred method of contact. • Should there be any delay in the processing of a student’s laptop he/she will be notified prior to June 13. • The unpaid balance is due in full at the time of pickup. • Purchasers who are unable to pick up the laptop during the above time frame should contact Heather Valentine in the District Office to schedule an alternate date and/or time.
