Why Do We Love Cristin Milioti? Hazel Green from MADE for LOVE Why do we love Cristin Milioti? Hazel Green from MADE FOR LOVE HBO Max has just released the first season of MADE FOR LOVE, a Max Originals series based on the novel by the same name by Alissa Nutting, which tells the story of Hazel Green, the character played by Cristin Milioti. In the plot, Hazel runs away after discovering that her husband has implanted a chip in her brain to gain access to all her thoughts, desires and wishes, without her consent. With its mix of humor and science fiction, Cristin Milioti makes the series even better. We in fact, love her. Here is a list of why you should love her too. She played the famous mother in How I Met Your Mother Yes, Cristin Milioti plays the character Tracy McConnell, the mother of the children of protagonist Ted Mosby, whose love story he has set out to tell since the first episode of the sitcom. Well, this story yielded nine successful seasons. Tracy is only revealed in the last episode of season eight, when Cristin Milioti appears holding the yellow umbrella and buying a ticket to the city of Farhampton, where she will eventually meet Ted - and finally the story of how he met the mother of his children begins to reach its conclusion. She rocks musicals – and has already won a Grammy! Much of Cristin’s on-screen know-how comes from theatre. She became known for her theatrical performances like That Face, Stunning and also for the Broadway musical Once, which won a Grammy in 2013 for Best Musical Theatre Album and Tony Awards in eight different categories in 2012, including Best Musical. Cristin Milioti is also a singer and has recorded music by David Bowie. Not many people know, but besides being an actress, Cristin Milioti is also a singer. And a good one at that! Go to Spotify and search her name....at the start of the year she released a single of the song "715 Creeks", by Bon Iver. But this is far from her first foray into music: the album “Lazarus – Cast Album” has 19 songs by David Bowie that make up the musical Lazarus, written by him and sung by the actors that star in the play, including Cristin. She once was Leonardo DiCaprio’s wife Who remembers Cristin Milioti in The Wolf of Wall Street, a film directed by Martin Scorsese? She was the wife of Leonardo DiCaprio's character. But she is unrecognizable. According to her, the character wears “a huge perm, acrylic nails and jeans up to her second rib. She's tough, but she loves him and believes in him, which makes it so painful.” Spoilers aside, it's actually hard to watch what happens to the couple. Cristin’s Instagram Despite not being a big user, she isn’t afraid to take a political stand on her Instagram account. There, she shows her support for different social causes, such as her video at the Black Lives Matter movement in Los Angeles, or a photo with the colors of the LGBTQIAP+ flag during Gay Pride month – and to top it off, you even get a picture of her puppy Rupert that she adopted. Two teenagers, sitting in a living room, listen to their father, as he tells how he met their mother. He warns: this story is going to take a while, since he starts to recount, in great detail, his life as a young—and single—architect in New York City, back in 2005. So begins the pilot of the American sitcom How I Met Your Mother (CBS, 2005–2014): with a promise that the story will eventually lead to the aforementioned meeting. The year 2005. As viewers discover Ted Mosby’s endless quest to meet the mother of his children, American primetime television storytelling has already entered a new era, one of “narrative complexity” as Jason Mittell notably dubbed it1. Rooted in the 1990s popular dramas, such as The X-Files (Fox, 1993–2002) and premium cable shows like The Sopranos (HBO, 1999–2007), this narrational mode is “distinct for its use of narrative complexity as an alternative to the conventional episodic and serial forms that have typified most American television since its inception2.” That is, a narratively complex show is both episodic and serialized at the same time, depending on which story arc one is following: the episodic ones, closed at the end of each episode, or the serialized ones, stretched over numerous episodes and even seasons. Its star Leonardo DiCaprio has compared it to the story of the Print Page Roman emperor Caligula, and he's not far off the mark. Like 986 Adapted by Terence Winter from the memoir by stockbroker Jordan Belfort, who oozed his way into a fortune in the 1980s and 27 '90s, this is an excessive film about excess, and a movie about appetites whose own appetite for compulsive pleasures seems Tweet 98 bottomless. It runs three hours, and was reportedly cut down from four by Scorsese's regular editor Thelma Schoonmaker. It's a testament to Scorsese and Winter and their collaborators that one could imagine watching these cackling swine for five hours, or ten, while still finding them fascinating, and our own fascination with them disturbing. This is a reptilian brain movie. Every frame has scales. The middle-class, Queens-raised Belfort tried and failed to establish himself on Wall Street in a more traditional way—we see his tutelage in the late '80s at a blue chip firm, under the wing of a grinning sleazeball played by Matthew McConaughey—but got laid off in the market crash of 1987. He reinvented himself on Long Island by taking over a penny stock boiler room and giving it an old money name, Stratton Oakmont, to gain the confidence of middle- and working-class investors.

While research regarding origin stories is incomplete, How I Met Your Mother will allow for framing of origin story research as the show features Ted narrating his quest to his future children. Through the analysis of a popularized television show, origin story research will be expanded to demonstrate that two origin stories can occur side-by-side as the narrator places himself in the story. Ted tells the story to reaffirm his love for the Mother, while subtly using it as a way to position himself close to Robin again. The narrative Ted tells allows him to be in the action, igniting a flame for an old lover through the telling of the story.
