KARATE REGULATIONS Last up-date 29/06/16

1. OrganizationU a. The Federation’s directing committee will be responsible for the th Karate competitions of the 20P P Maccabiah. b. The Karate competitions ( + Kata) will be conducted according to the Basic Rules of the W.K.F. (). c. Participation in the competition is open to any athlete who is in possession of a th Participant Card, issued by the Organizing Committee of the 20P P Maccabiah and registered the Karate competitions. d. Competitions will be held as follows: - 1) Individuals – Open, Masters & Juniors: A. Male – Kumite/Kata B. Female – Kumite/Kata 2) Teams – Open only: A. Male – Kumite/Kata B. Female – Kumite/Kata e. Minimum age for the Open Kumite competition is 18. Minimum age for the Open Kata competition is 16. f. In Open and Masters Individual Kumite events each competitor may take part in only one weight category listed. In each category there must be a minimum of 3 countries entered. Each country may enter a maximum of 3 competitors in each category. There must be a minimum number of 3 competitors in each weight category. g. In Juniors' (in their separate categories) Individual Kumite events, each competitor may take part in only one weight category listed. In each category there must be a minimum of 3 countries entered. Each country may enter a maximum of 3 competitors. There must be a minimum number of 3 competitors in each weight category. h. The individual Kumite Competitions will conducted according to the following weight categories:

Open and Open Female 01-02 Boys 99-00 Boys 99-02 Girls Masters (35+) Male Up to 60kgs. Up to 50kgs. Up to 52kg. Up to 55kg. Up to 47kg. -67kg. -56kg. -57kgs. - 61kg. -53kg. -75kg. -61kg. -63kg. -68kg. -59kg. -84kg. -68kg. 70kg. 76kg. Over 59kg. Over 84kg. Over 68kg. Over 70kg. Over 76kg.

i. Each country may enter maximum 3 competitors for each of the above- mentioned individual categories of the Kumite competitions and maximum 2 competitors for the Kata individual competitions (apply to all Kata Categories). j. Each country may enter maximum 1 team for the Open male's Kumite team competition. Each team will consist of a maximum of 5 (+2 substitutes), a minimum of 3 competitors.

k. Each country may enter maximum 1 team for the Open Female’s Kumite team competition. Each team will consist of a maximum of 3 (+1 substitute), a minimum of 2 competitors. l. Each country may enter 1 team for the Open males Kata team competition and 1 team for the senior females Kata team competition. A team will consist of three competitors. m. The 2 Kata teams reaching the finals must also demonstrate Kata. n. No team competition will be held for Juniors/Cadets categories o. Masters, Open, Juniors and Cadets contestants shall wear protectors recognized by the W.K.F (in Kumite competitions)

2. Venues and times a. The Sport department of the 20th Maccabiah will determine the venues and times of the Karate competitions and teams will be notified accordingly. b. The competitions will be held on official mats.

3. System and rules of W.K.F. competition It is recommended to ask for the complete updated set of rules of WKF competitions from the national Karate Federation a year before the Maccabiah commences. a. Duration of each match for Male Open Individual Kumite will be 3 minutes. No extra time, and finals need to be 4 min, for female 2min and final 3 min b. Duration of each match for the rest of the Individual Kumite categories will be 2 minutes. No extra time c. Duration of each match for all the Team Kumite categories will be 2 minutes. d. The size of the competition area (TATAMME) will be 8x8 meters. e. The competitions will include the repechage. f. The judgment of each Kumite match will be by one referee and four judges, match supervisor, tatami manager and a scorekeeper. g. Referees and judges shall judge the match in accordance with the updated rules of W.K.F at the day of the competition. h. The Chief Referee will organize a panel of referees and decide the allocation of the referees in advance of the match. i. Please ask for updated W.K.F rules at your National Karate Federation; this can usually be found also at: http://www.wkf.net/html/rules.html under "RULES OF KARATE COMPETITION".

4. General a. These regulations are but one part of the complete 20th Maccabiah Regulations, and must be read along with the instructions found in “Basic Regulations and Disciplinary Procedures”. b. In the event of a discrepancy between the regulations written here and those appearing in the “Basic Regulations”, the regulations written here will apply and be binding.

LACROSSE REGULATIONS Last Update 29/06/16

1. Organization a. The Sport department of the 20th Maccabiah will be responsible for the Lacrosse competitions of the 20th Maccabiah. b. The Lacrosse competitions will be conducted according to the rules of the Federation of International Lacrosse. (F.I.L) c. Participation in the competition is open to any athlete who is in possession of a Participant Card, issued by the Organizing Committee of the 20th Maccabiah. d. Each country may enter one team for the females' open competition, one team for males' competition, one team for youth boys (1999-2000) and one team for the junior girls' junior (1999-2002) competition. e. Each team for the Lacrosse competitions may consist of a minimum of 12 players and a maximum of 18 players. f. Each team must bring two sets of game shirts in different colors to each game.

2. Venues and times a. The Sport department of the 20th Maccabiah will determine the venues and times of the Karate competitions and teams will be notified accordingly. b. Each game will be played 60 minutes, 2 periods of 30 minutes each with a break of 10 minutes. c. Games will played according to the international dimensions: Males Size of field 110 m X 60 m (120.30 yard X 65.62 yard) 1) Goal crease radius 3 m (3.28 yard) 2) Space behind the goal 12 m (13.12 yard) 3) Substitution area or gate 13 m (14.22 yard) 4) Centre face-off X to wing line and goal line to men’s restraining line remain essentially the same but the measurement has been adjusted to metric. 5) Additional field length is added to the centre of the field between the 2 restraining lines and the additional width is added between the wing lines and the sidelines. Females 1) Size of field 110m x 60m 2) Restraining line 25m 3) Space behind goal 12m 4) Team bench area 18.5m

3. Game ball The games will be played with balls as specified in the International Rules and Regulations.

4. System of competition With the participation of up to 3 teams: a. The competitions will be played on a league basis of a single round robin. b. The winner of each match will be awarded two points, and the loser no points. In the event of technical loss the result of the match will be 12-0. c. If a game is stopped by the referee because of disciplinary foul and the goal difference at the time of stoppage is more than 12, the result of the game will be confirmed, if the Disciplinary Committee will convict the team for the foul causing the stoppage of the game.

d. In the event of two teams obtaining the same number of points, classification will be determined according to the F.I.L. tiebreaker formula. e. Following the round-robin, the second and third place teams will compete in a playoff match. f. The winner of the playoff match will compete against the first place team for the title “20th Maccabiah Champion”.

5. Draw The draw of the teams in the groups will be a public draw for slots “Team A”, “Team B” and “Team C”: a. Day 1 Team A vs. Team B b. Day 2 Team A vs. Team C c. Day 3 Team B vs. Team C d. Day 4 Playoff Game: #3 vs. #2 e. Day 5 Championship Game: #3/#2 winner vs. #1

6. Umpires The Sport Department will select an Umpires’ Committee, which in turn will appoint the umpires of the competition.
