As the Chairman of the Board of ISFA, I am delighted to serve the people of the State of Illinois as we continue our focus of maintaining Guaranteed Rate Field as the home of the Chicago White Sox and as a premiere multi-use facility. Along with fellow 2019 board members, Rosemarie Andolino, Norm Bobins, Leslie Darling, Michael Forde, Trisha Rooney, Ilan Shalit, (as well as 2019 past board members Tim Rand and Jeffrey Yordon) and the dedicated staff, we work to ensure that ISFA maintains fiscal integrity while doing all we can to promote economic development in and around the ballpark and surrounding neighborhood. I extend my sincere thanks to our board members and staff for their combined dedication to this mission. Created by the General Assembly in 1987 for the purposes of constructing and renovating stadiums for professional sports teams in Illinois, most notably the construction of a new Comiskey Park. Our duties were expanded by the General Assembly in 2001 to include bonding authority and associated responsibilities to finance the renovation of Soldier Field and the surrounding Parkland. We are very proud of the fact that we have a a 29 year track record of meeting our fiscal obligations and helping to provide two outstanding sports and entertainment facilities. Our responsibilities at Guaranteed Rate Field include required stadium improvements and repairs. 2019 saw numerous projects completed and others started. Completed projects that were undertaken and completed include the Main Lobby renovation, LED Field Lights, LED Parking Lot Lights, TV Truck Dock upgrade, Broadcast Cabling upgrade throughout the ballpark, Building Automation Point upgrade and other smaller projects. Projects undertaken and in process are various phased projects: HVAC (including a new Left Field Chiller), Plumbing, Wayfinding Signage, Video Surveillance, Perimeter Security upgrades, Scoreboard Control Room upgrades, Access Control and Concrete/ Waterproofing repairs. ISFA is proud of its commitment to partner with community, civic and nonprofit organizations from all over the City and State to play a small part with them to achieve their individual goals and mission. We, the ISFA Board of Directors, continue to feel that as a public entity, we have a responsibility to use our ballpark and surrounding landscape to benefit the residents of the State of Illinois. In 2019, as in the past, and moving forward, ISFA continues to play a role in the fundraising efforts of many nonprofit organizations through premium ticket donations. ISFA also continues to provide non-premium ticket donations to groups, some of which are affording children from Chicagoland and visitors from other countries, to see their first Major League Baseball game! 2019 continued its tradition and hosted the 20th Annual Chicago Police Department vs. the Chicago Fired Department Charity Baseball game. We also were host to the Chicago Public Schools Championship game, the ALS 5k Charity walk/run, the Catholic League vs. Public League All Star game and hosted a Stair Climb with the proceeds benefitting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. In addition, we teamed with the Chicago Park District to host a portion of the Valor Games. We are proud of the work we have done and we continue to aggressively market to other promoters in an effort to maximize non-baseball related revenues and remain dedicated to our fiscal responsibilities. We thank the State of Illinois, the City of Chicago, the Chicago White Sox, the Chicago Park District and all our partners for their continued support. Cordially, Manuel “Manny” Sanchez 02 | 2019 ISFA AR July 16, 2019 Chicago Police Department vs. Chicago Fire Department 2019 was the 20th Annual Finest vs. Bravest game. The stands were filled with loyal fans from both sides to support Chicago’s first responders. Pregame ceremonies reflected on the past 20 years and honored the fallen. This game is always a good time to come out for night of friendships and a friendly rivalry. Although the Chicago Police Finest defeated the Chicago Fire Fighters Bravest with a score of 21-4, there are no losers on this night! 2019 ISFA AR | 03 04 | 2019 ISFA AR April 22, 2019 - Fenwick vs. De La Salle Fenwick and De La Salle High Schools took the field on April 22 to play at Guaranteed Rate Field. Fenwick took an early lead and held on through a tight game to edge out De La Salle with a score of 4 – 3. April 24, 2019 - University of Chicago vs. IIT IIT lead this game through 7 innings but a late comeback by the University of Chicago, scoring 5 runs in the top of the 8th had the University of Chicago take over the lead and then hold on to win the game. IIT had 5 runs on 12 hits and University of Chicago had 8 runs on 9 hits. May 20, 2019 - Chicago Public Schools Championship Game: Lake View High School vs. Jones College Prep High School This game was a pitcher’s duel. Scoreless until the bottom of the 4th inning, each team went back and forth scoring. With four lead changes, Lake View snuck by Jones College Prep with a final score of 6 – 4. Lake View had 11 hits and Jones College Prep had 6 hits in seven innings. June 17, 2019 – Chicago Catholic Schools vs. Chicago Public League Schools Chicago’s Catholic League took a lead of 6 – 0 in the 1st inning and stayed in control for the remainder of the game. Catholic League defeated the Public League with a score of 10 – 5. 2019 ISFA AR | 05 06 | 2019 ISFA AR This was the 10th Annual Les turner ALS 5k held here at July 13, 2019 the stadium. 2019 brought in 600 participants and raised Les Turner ALS 5k approximately $81,000 to help fight ALS. 2019 ISFA AR | 07 The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation held a Stadium Stair Climb on September 22. It's a moment captured during one of the two games played at U.S. Cellular Field from the 2005 World Series, won by the White Sox over the Astros in a four-game sweep. "That's where I want to be," said Adolfo with a smile. The No. 14-ranked White Sox prospect per MLBPipeline.com didn't specify whether he was referring to playing at Guaranteed Rate Field or taking part in a World Series. Adolfo very well might have meant both. Steps were taken toward that goal during the 2017 season by the 21-year-old outfielder. Adolfo hit .264 with 16 homers, 28 doubles and 64 RBIs for Class A Kannapolis, marking career highs in all four categories, as well as the 112 games played and 424 at-bats. His season came to an end on Aug. 22, upon suffering a fracture in the knuckle of his left pinky from what he described as a freak accident after bumping his hand. The cast has come off the injured area, and while he worked primarily on range- of-motion activities during instructional league action in Arizona, Adolfo should be hitting in two weeks.

We strongly feel that COVID vaccines are a personal medical choice and those that do not receive it should not be excluded or stigmatized. If you agree, we ask for your intercession with this policy at Guaranteed Rate Field. Vaccine passports or solicitation of proof of vaccination should not be a requirement for Illinoisans to enjoy America’s pastime. Segregation of patrons unwilling or unable to show proof of vaccination would not only be an infringement on the liberties and freedom of Illinoisans, but also a violation of individual medical privacy. Operation Warp Speed, under President Donald J. Trump, allowed the development of COVID vaccines at a rate we have never seen in world history. These remarkable medical breakthroughs are helping allow Americans to get back to work and are protecting those who are medically able and willing to receive the vaccine. What we cannot permit, though, is disparate treatment of our constituents based on medical treatments. We are deeply troubled by potential stigmatizing of Illinoisans based on medical status. The CDC has not yet advised that all age groups and medical conditions are eligible for COVID vaccination, and as such, many Illinoisans are not yet eligible to receive the vaccine.

    They’re gone a decade, but Vince Lloyd’s, Red Mottlow’s voices remind of eternal friendships By George Castle, CBM Historian Posted Tuesday, February 19, 2013 Both great men are gone nearly 10 years. But I still consider them my friends, present tense, because I still hear their distinctive voices loud and clear, whether in memories of being on the air, offering wise counsel or only skimming the top of their encyclopedia of stories and ex- periences. I’ve got to keep their memory alive, because gen- erations who never heard them or knew them de- serve the benefit of their output as men and all- time sportscasters. Vince Lloyd and Red Mottlow had great influence on me growing up. As I got to know them closely as their senior-citizen days ap- proached and progressed, my only regret – a big Red Mottlow pounding away at his type- one -- is not getting more decades with them in writer with some of his broadcast corporeal form. awards on the wall behind him. Longtime baseball announcer Lloyd should be a recipient of the Ford C. Frick Award, honoring a great voice of the game. Pioneering radio sports reporter Mottlow should have gotten his shot on the air at WGN. Subtracting these goals doesn’t take a shred away from their lifetime achievements. There was Lloyd’s rich baritone, hardly cracking when he bellowed “Holy Mackeral!” for a Cubs homer, intersecting with Mottlow’s staccato, rapid-fire “Red Mottlow, WCFL Sports” on mid-20th Century 50,000-watt Chicago-originated frequencies. There were kind, encouraging words amid the most political of businesses – sports media -- where negativity and a childish caste system still rule.
