Our customers are the focus of our operations, therefore we are building a long-term strategic partnership and cooperation with them. is a vertically integrated holding company, the leading steel SIJ manufacturer in Slovenia, and one of the largest stainless and special steel manufacturers in Europe. SIJ Group consists of the two largest steel companies in Slovenia (Acroni and Metal Ravne), other manufacturing and processing companies (Ravne Knives, Elektrode, SUZ), specialized service and sales centers across Europe and the USA, and companies for scrap steel collection and sales. SIJ Group is the pillar of the steel industry in Slovenia and one of the largest business systems in the country. The Group generates more than 85 percent of its total income from foreign market sales. During the last year, SIJ has strengthened its position in both, domestic market and key European export markets, increasing its global competiveness mainly in segments of stainless and special steel. The key levers of the Group’s sustainable growth are adapting to customer needs, the optimization of key product groups (production mix), and numerous consolidation and operation optimization measures. At the same time, SIJ Group continues increasing its share of products with higher added value, entering more demanding industrial sectors and industries, e.g. energy generation (also from renewable energy sources), nuclear industry, oil and gas industry, and aviation. The company estimates that they will also significantly contribute to the future growth in demand for stainless and special steel in Europe and worldwide. This is how SIJ Group, in cooperation with its strategic partners, continues to build its reputation as one of the most prominent stainless and special steel suppliers in Europe. www.sij.si 3 PRODUCTION PROGRAM FLAT PRODUCTS Quarto plates Sheets Coils Wide flats Flat sections 5 PRODUCTION PROGRAM LONG PRODUCTS Round sections Heavy billets Billets with rounded edges Bars Wire 7 PRODUCTION PROGRAM FORGED PRODUCTS Forged bars Forgings Discs Bushes 9 PRODUCTION PROGRAM INDUSTRIAL KNIVES Knives for plastics Knives for wood Knives for paper Knives for metal 11 PRODUCTION PROGRAM WELDING MATERIAL Electrodes Welding wires Welding rods Flux cored wires Agglomerated fluxes Agglomerated wires 13 STEELS PRODUCED Austenitic stainless steels Superaustenitic stainless steels Heat resistant austenitic stainless steels Martensitic stainless steels Heat resistant ferritic stainless steels Duplex stainless steels Super duplex stainless steels Lean duplex stainless steels Nickel alloys Wear resistant steels High strenght steels High speed steels Hot work tool steels Cold work tool steels Plastic mould steels Mangalloy steels Alloyed steels Non alloyed steels Steels for cold forming Steels for pressure vessels Steels for quenching and tempering Case hardening steels Spring steels Fully processed electrical steels – dinamo Fully processed high permeability electrical steels Semi processed high permeability electrical steels 15 DIMENSIONAL RANGE HOT ROLLED STRIPS PEELED AND PEELED&POLISHED BARS Thickness: 3–6 mm ɸ 16–80 mm Width: 100–1000 mm Length: 2500–6000 mm Inner diameter: 610 mm GROUND AND GROUND&POLISHED BARS HOT ROLLED SHEETS ɸ 7–80 mm Thickness: 3–6 mm Length: 1200–4000 mm Width: 800–1000 mm Length: 2000–6000 mm DRAWN BARS Round ɸ 2–120 mm COLD ROLLED STRIPS Hexagonal 5–50 mm Thickness: 0,3–3 mm Square 5–50 mm Width: 30–1000 mm Length: 3000–6000 mm Inner diameter: 508/610 mm WIRE COLD ROLLED SHEETS ɸ 0,1–45 mm Thickness: 0,5–3 mm Width: 1000 mm FORGED BARS Length: 2000–6000 mm ɸ 90–1050 mm Flat: from 90 × 60 mm to 1800 × 500 mm / HEAVY PLATES 1200 × 700 mm / 1500 × 600 mm Thickness: 7–130 mm Square: 80–950 mm Width: 1000–2500 mm Length: 2000 – 10000 mm Length: 2000–12000 mm FORGINGS WIDE FLATS max ɸ 1050 mm Thickness: 26–90 mm max length: 10000 mm Width: 250–505 mm max weight coventional: 29500 kg max weight ESR: 24000 kg FLAT SECTIONS Thickness: 7–65 mm DISCS Width: 40–255 mm Max. external ɸ 2500 mm Length: 3000–6000 mm Max. borehole ɸ 1800 mm Max. weight: 28000 kg SQUARE SECTIONS Square: 25–75 mm BUSHES Length: 3000–6000 mm Max. external ɸ 950 mm Max. borehole ɸ 700 mm BILLETS WITH ROUNDED EDGES Min. external ɸ 200 mm Square: 14–180 mm Max. length: 1900 mm Length: 2000–6000 mm ROUND SECTIONS ɸ 15–105 mm Length: 3000–6000 mm 17 APPLICATIONS OF OUR PRODUCTS Machine building industry Automotive industry Aircraft industry Oil and gas industry Construction industry Construction equipment industry Metal-working industry Food processing industry Chemical industry Petrochemical industry Medical industry Pharmaceutical industry Power generation industry Water treatment industry 19 RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT THE STEELMAKING TRADITION WE TAKE PRIDE IN, CAN BE PRESERVED AND UPGRADED ONLY THROUGH DYNAMIC DEVELOPMENT. Our Research&Development departments carry out metallurgical research, develop new products, and implement and optimize new technologies. For the production of high-quality products, we have to closely observe the development of new steels and technologies across the world. The latest developments are quickly introduced into our production. The extent of our development achievements is wide and dynamic; they involve new steels, new products, new and improved technologies and faster manufacturing procedures. Our development achievements ensure us a competitive advantage over our rivals. Incorporation into a partner development network represents a vital part of our research and development. On the one hand, this means a closer cooperation with the top-level knowledge and development institutions, while on the other hand, we enjoy development cooperation with the development departments held by our partners - customers as well as competent consulting. We have the latest research equipment at our disposal, along with mechanical and chemical laboratories as well as laboratory heat treatment facilities. We are building a database covering the properties of our steels and perform inspections also for external clients. Our development departments employ a team of highly competent experts, which has been constantly upgraded since our bold development goals are set on a long-term basis. 21 QUALITY ASSURANCE OUR MAIN GOAL IS TO BE A SUCCESSFUL COMPANY WITH SENSITIVE COMMITMENT TOWARDS THE ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH WE OPERATE. Modern chemical, mechanical and metallographic laboratories, professionally trained and skilled personnel and our long term experience enable us to carry out the quality policies set, with all 5 production companies within the group certified according to EN ISO 9001:2008 standard. Employees form the basic cell of our company and at the same time its major asset. Ensuring a safe working place is one of the principle rights, duties and responsibilities of all our employees. Therefore we are introducing the system of safety and health at work OHSAS 18001:2007 into the central strategy of both steel mills, Acroni and Metal Ravne. We take care about environment, contributing to its sustainability by conforming to applicable regulatory requirements and by achieving continual improvement of our plants environmental performance according to ISO 14001:2004 standard. 23 SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOUR IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF OUR BUSINESS OPERATIONS.
