2017–2018 Corporate Sponsors EDUCATION INITIATIVE
NAMING SPONSOR:
AN INVESTMENT IN OUR COMMUNITY SUPPORTING SPONSORS:
Cardinal Stage Company is proud to partner with the IU Credit Union along with addi - tional sponsoring organizations in the ongoing development of the IU Credit Union Education Initiative. Now entering its forth year, the Initiative was founded to advance a comprehensive series of outreach programs to expand access to Cardinal shows and then to extend the theatrical experience into the classroom and community.
The IU Credit Union Education Initiative is comprised of four unique activities designed to meet the needs of the community:
• Cardinal for Schools—This program significantly reduces the cost of admission so that school children can attend special weekday matinee performances. Cardinal fundraises the difference between what schools can afford and the cost of putting on a show. In addition, Cardinal produces educational materials to accompany performances, specifically designed to meet curricular standards for the age group.
• Community Access Tickets (CATs)—Cardinal works with social service organizations and Title I schools to provide free tickets to children and families who cannot otherwise attend a Cardinal production. With the additional generous support of 100+ Women Who Care, Cardinal anticipates bringing 1500+ school children, kids and family members to 2016–2017 shows absolutely free of charge.
• School Tour—Cardinal commissioned a new S.T.E.M. focused play for grade- schoolers from multi-award winning playwright Glen Berger. Peabody: Th e Scien ce Fair Affair toured dozens of schools in the counties around Bloomington, providing
10,000+ schoolchildren a rare if not firsPetert exp Panerie Playbill.qxp_Layoutnce with live thea t1r e 12/5/17. 5:19 PM Page 44 • Actor Training Program—Cardinal will be teaching Musical Theater to 4th, 5th and 6th graders that choose to take the elective course at Fairview Elementary an Artful Learning School. These outreach efforts could not be possible without the partner - ship and support of generous organizations and individuals who share Cardinal’s vision for a professional regional theatre as part of a stronger Bl2oo0m17in–g2t0on1 8c ommunity.
